I always wondered if their relationship with the media ever had something to do with getting in earlier?

Also, Alan Page was the first ever defensive player to be MVP and didn't get in the first time. I always found that odd.

Huge Freeney fan. Some folks may be selling Klecko short; he was a beast. His HOF election is well deserved. He played all over the defensive line (DE, DT, NG) and was excellent against the run and pass. Freeney was the superior pass rusher but was often a liability in the run game. You just can’t say that about Klecko. They both should be in.

It’s also not apples to apples. Klecko was on the senior list. The guy finished playing in 1988. Lot different than Freeney who has only been eligible for 4 years.

There are limited spots each year

One thing to remember is there is a maximum number of 7 that can be inducted each year along with 2 senior inductees (over the next 3 years, then it goes back to 1). So there is a backlog of deserving candidates. I'm sure Dwight will get in
