Fridays Exhibition game

I'm assuming it will be on TW Sports and it will not be available on Verizon. I'm pretty sure there's some kind of weird deal where Time Warner has to make regular season games available to cable competitors but not exhibition games.

TW is carying it so I asume they will also stream it. Last year they streamed the exhibitions and at least a couple of them were free, not sure if that will work this season. I'll try to check their livestream schedule.

OAA is only showing an audio feed and after emailing them they confirmed that there will be no video. What is up with that, they also didn't have the Orange Madness this year. I'm not sure how they expect to collect money when they aren't going to do live feeds on the Exhibitions and early home games that out of towners cannot see otherwise.

This is terrible news. Time warner is the devil.

Its TW Sportsnet now and It knows my computer hook up is out of its area so I can't even really see the schedule, looks like a but load of Lakers stuff. I think there are different channels on there but it won't really let me mess around with it. You might be able to since you are in theri area.

Agreed. My subscription runs out shortly, but everything that I will be able to watch as a subscriber they show basically "For Free" anyway on the main page. Why would I want to pay a monthly subscription fee when 98% of the content I will get to watch now is for free?

Cheers,
Neil

I hear you and will be basically sending them a message telling them that. I was none to happy to have a yearly subscription only to find out I have to pay another 45 bucks to watch the canadian games. I figured I;d cancell and just do month to month for Nov and Dec every year just for the Exhibitions and the couple of early home games only apparently they won't even do those this year. The product has never really been ideal either but I could live with it to be able to see the games.

OAA says its a TV rights issue. So basically TW ownes this game and ESPN owned Orange Madness. They don't show the schedule far enough ahead of time to see if they will have the other exhibitions.

Does Time Warner Cable have the ability to stream it online? Perhaps not in Syracuse area (so it doesn't cannibalize its TV audience), but in other areas?

My on screen guide shows it on TWSports in Syracuse Ch 19 in SD and 323 in HD. I know that doesn't help people in other areas or with other providers, but I posted it for the locals and to confirm that at least it is televised and another outlet might pick it up.

They must because they did last year.

At the moment, there is nothing listed on DirecTV. But you can get Kentucky vs Transylvania on three channels... and cricket on a few others.
Well that doesn't make me anything but angry. So angry I think I'm going to go shark finning on onondaga lake.

TW Sports is a wild card depending on the area you live. I was going to use it for the Canadian games, but they chose not to show it in my backyard.

That's the final straw for OAA for me. The fact that they shook me down for the Canadian games was bad enough but now they are not going to televise the early exhibition games? Gimmie a break! I guess the bright side is that I don't have to endure the missing audio or audio with no video and the incredibly poor production that seems comical in light of Newhouse. Don't those cretins know that Syracuse basketball is the _______s' team and those people in east quagmullet need coverage?

SU basketball exhibition games always used to be televised when we had a deal with SNY. But I guess we're not NY's college team anymore.

Funny how that works.

Just sayin.

I was also thinking about signing up for OAA this year. However, I now have some concerns based on some of the comments here. The exhibition games I'm not overly worried about, but the OOC games I do want to see as most of them will not be televised where I am.

I emailed through the OAA link specifically asking "What Men's Basketball games will you be streaming this season?" They responded very quick saying "The streaming schedule has not come out yet, check back in a few days." I will likely follow up again.

The quality is not good as far as video and audio as well as production. The Matt's do know the team and do a good job from a homer standpoint IMO. It would be totally worth the 10 bucks a month for november and december if they streamed all the OOC homegames taht were not nationally televized and the exhibitions which they pretty much did until last year when it got dicy.
