LOL it takes time. This year they had to resort to bringing in 5th year guys. That is not the sign of a strong program. One, maybe. Two? Not so much. Let's not also forget they needed a 60 footer to keep their hopes alive.

They followed it up with a top 10 recruiting class, what's that a sign of?

Their defense is good -- but let's not pretend the AAC has a bunch of good offenses. OOC since Atlantis for them was OSU, GTown and Texas.

I do think UConn is good and I do think Ollie knows how to get to talent to Storrs. But I also think they don't have a Napier or Kemba on this year's team. And they aren't as good as those Calhoun teams with Price/Thabeet/Sticks/Adrien/Gordon/Okafor.

Kansas' size will give them fits an Kansas has the best guards UConn has seen all year.

1. Hate isn't reserved for losing teams. It's fun to hate on Rutgers, but it's more fun to root against a real rival who wins.

2. They won 1 game as a 9 seed. If they lose on Saturday, are they still getting it done?

3. We know how nice it is. 58-29 (them) v 61-37 (us). 5 FF appearances apiece. They have more championships (kudos to them).

UConn is tough to come back on because they don't miss FT's

Hate UCONN, but the reason they have won more close/big games than us over the years is because their main guys have always been good ft shooters and ours have always struggled. That's the difference.

National Championship, who knows what they do this year, and the #8 recruiting class coming in. I see its quite rough in the AAC.

You'd have to be blind to not recognize that they've already slipped a notch. They had a mediocre year in that "rough" AAC, finishing sixth, and it took a miracle shot for them to go on a run in the conference tournament to make it to the NCAAs. Last year, they got left out when they didn't win the conference tournament championship.

Things ain't going to get any better. Barring the B1G bid their delusional fanbase has unanimously decided is imminent, of course.

They have the titles, they have a now proven coach and they tend to get rolling in March. I hate them but the program is not in decline. Conference affiliation is obviously important but they seem to rise above it.

They are such a proven commodity that they play a lot of high-profile non-conference national tv matchups. They have no problem getting top 10 classes. A program with all those national titles in decline? Nope.
