This from the best living college coach in the country

"Good teams generally don’t detract from themselves,” Auriemma said. “When they find something that is good, they add to it. When someone comes off the bench, they add to what we’re doing. [Sunday], we went into halftime on a little bit of a run, and we added to it. That’s exactly what you want to see. That’s what good teams do.”

UConn coach Geno Auriemma says this is what good teams do
He said good team‘s don’t come out flat in the second half.

“Now it’s early in the season, don’t get me wrong,” Auriemma said. “It could be just the opposite next Friday, but I like that we kept adding to what we were doing."

We need to get to this point if we want to be great.

They did not come out flat in the 2nd half. They pushed the lead to like 13pts and then fell apart.

Not sure I put much weight in what Geno says. He's not wrong, but his talent level has been better than everyone for much of his career. Most of his bench players would've been starters for 90% of the country. The girls game has been so top heavy that you can't compare it to the men's game. Maybe compare it to the parity of the men's game of the '50's or 60's.

Yeah they were like the NBA Dream Team and now that the other side has equal talent it ain’t so easy.
I’m sure he is a fine coach but I’m not sure about best living coach in the country.

It's true. To be fair, he built them to that by going head to head against the established programs like Tennessee with Pat Summitt, but it's not like he played in a league sending 50-75% of its teams to the tournament annually with half the league making the final 4 over the course of a decade. While he was establishing the program there just weren't as many programs vying for the attention of media or recruits, and he wasn't running a gauntlet of a schedule despite going out of his way to schedule top OOC teams.
