Shafer on selecting recruiting/transfers: biggest thing is a good fit, information gathering never stops.

Shafer said he always leans on GPA over standardized testing when assessing recruits.

Shafer on FSU RB Dalvin Cook: "I'd put him right up there with Fournette. ... He is the complete package." Praises his vision, versatility.

Shafer said Rodney Williams' injury is one of the reasons why Julian Whigham has played some safety the last couple weeks.

Shafer said his Winston Churchill quote this morning came from his wife, Missy. Said he felt it was appropriate.

Shafer on injuries (specifically asked about concussions): "We always take care of the best interest of the human being."

Shafer said the growth moving forward comes understanding circumstance, opposition's approach.
