Why wait? If the intention is to fire him, and the decision has been made to fire him, there is no reason for the University not to have pulled the trigger last night--let alone to wait until Friday. Rip the bandaid off all at once.

We have a game tomorrow. I can't imagine this would be held in limbo until Friday. Not saying that JB won't ultimately be terminated, but I don't buy this explanation.

That I find difficult to believe.

Any trustee would be very careful about sharing that information right now; one can bet that if some guy on the board thinks it's even a remote possibility that his idiot son would spill the beans to his idiot friend, then he won't divulge anything to the son.

Also - and maybe this is my basketball homerism shining through - it seems unlikely that they'd do any firing this close to the Big East-SEC Challenge game on Friday. Either they'd axe him with Bernie last night or he's safe.
