this is highly typical with Canadian recruits. Im into the Lax scene and its not uncommon for Canadians to be 1-2 years behind US kids academically according to the US. they often take prep years . But of course its NCAA and Cuse so you knew that wasn't happening...

Even if he wasn't going to play, it would have been great experience for him to get acclimated to campus and start practicing with his teammates.

I was hoping that he would have Hughes-like redshirt year and transition easily into the zone.

You know you have to look at the other side of the coin for a plus. If Quincy waited to next year and was still found to be credit short then he would be ineligible to play. At least now, he should be able to complete the course(s) he needs and will be eligible to play.

Or we could just fudge some data on our end..."help" him get the credit, let him play, and then later on report it to the NCAA, and ask for forgiveness. Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission!!

Surely the school knew what credits it would accept and not accept. They do this with students every semester (not just bball players). It's part of the normal course of university matriculation and business.

That's what I don't get... why is this an NCAA matter?
