Class of 2026 G/SF Alex Constanza (FL / SpireOH)

I don’t argue any of that.
Except - Moesch hasn’t played for Chitt for 2 years.

But your last line is where the rubber meets the road, er - court.

WHY would he come to Cuse?

Could we even afford him?

Seems like he’d get more $ and more opportunities at a more established program.

We’re on our 2nd full reset in the last 3 years.
After another 5 years prior of “meh”.

Don’t get me wrong - it would be amazing if GMac could land this kid.

I just don’t see how.
Yeah, I don't see him coming to Syracuse, not least because Constanza's dad seemed really locked in on the initial recruitment, and says we haven't reached out.

That said, up above, people were implying that we didn't have room for Constanza because we have Doty, Dual, Tobiason, Anthony and MMM.

That's like saying the Yankees shouldn't find room for Alex Rodriguez because Miguel Cairo and Enrique Wilson looked really good in 2003!

I am enjoying the reflexive defense of Moesch every time his name comes up. Good work!

Moesch running up big scoring numbers at Chittenango was just a recent example of a good player putting up enormous numbers against weak competition. Moving to Cushing was absolutely the right choice for him. But against good competition, Moesch wasn't scoring 37 per game any more.

Constanza was putting up 18/7/4 against top150 players.
If that's your point of this then it's a stupid post... Constanza didn't do that this year before he got hurt. Check his stats at Spire.

We aren’t the Yankees.

We were NEVER the Yankees.

At best right now, we’re Moneyball.

You just made my argument for me,
why he’s going to end up at a current blue blood.

Please post a link to his stats at Spire. Google is suggesting he scored around 17, but then goes on to say there aren't publicly compiled stats for that season.

It sounds like he was injured and then played well when he returned, but Google, like half the internet reporters out here, is wrong sometimes.

Cusefan0307 Please tell me you aren't going to ghost me after calling me stupid.

My metaphor might have been strained. Constanza isn't ARod by any imagining. No evidence of steroid use. :p

I think we are on the same side of the argument. I think we would love to have him, but I can't see many scenarios where he winds up here.

That said, we seem to have Moneyballed pretty well so far, and might be able to make a big money splash with a top high school recruit, who generally seem to be less expensive than transfers on a talent for talent basis.

Coaches and GMs are willing to pay more for lower variance, and having college footage for scouting and statistics is way more reliable for projections than high school scouting and stats. Often, the kids are so good at the high school level compared to the other guys it is hard to tell how well it will translate.

It is much easier to tell if Goodrick (for instance) will continue to be a really good offensive rebounder in the ACC than to figure out if Constanza is going to be a (say) turnover machine at the next level.

I didn’t call you stupid I said the post was stupid if that’s what you were going for. On the EYBL website it said he averaged less than 6 in seven games. Curious where the 17 is from.

My bad.

Improper use of the transitive property. Calling my post stupid isn't calling me stupid.
