Class of 2026 G/SF Alex Constanza (FL / SpireOH)

It only tumbled because he was coming back from injury which he’s fully recovered from
Curious on the timing of it. He averaged less than 6ppg for Spire when he did play. It was not a great season for him overall.

We already have like 6 wings.

I mean - you don’t say no if he really wants to come to Cuse,
but then - where do the minutes go?

Don’t see how he fits with allllll the other guys we’ve signed before him.

… which prolly explains why we haven’t reached out.

Never can have enough wings lol

Didn't his release just become public today? Sounds like we might already be connected anyway.
We were connected because we recruited this kid hard…and for good reason. We made his top 4 I believe. It may just be a little late but he would be the most intriguing signing…and by far. I’m sure he’s heard from numerous teams within the first hour or two. Like I said, hope we can connect and add this guy.

Yeah, I'm aware of the previous connection. Re-read post #425 in this thread.

I did not see that…I did see a few posts from respected posters that said per Mr Costanza, we had not reached out I hope post 425 is correct…he usually is.

Yes, he's a Red connection. His dad and Red go way back. Griff was also big in his recruitment. I'll text Alex's dad, but I'd be shocked if Syracuse got involved ...
So, George Costanza's dad was played by Jerry Stiller, who graduated from Syracuse in 1950. And his son, Ben Stiller is one of the biggest Knicks fans ever. And we all know Melo played seven years for the Knicks and wore uniform #7. And Melo's son has followed in his dad's footsteps and also wears #7.

So a lot of dad's have Syracuse connections, and not just to Red. And maybe, Ben Stiller would be a perfect person to be invited to a Syracuse game because his estimated net worth is around $200 million dollars. And maybe Melo and Vinny Lobdell, being the good dads they are, can convince Ben to donate to such a good cause to help Kiyan and Noah and their present and future teammates with a nice big fat check.

Constanza is listed at 6'8 with a 7'1 wingspan, and is a good rebounder. If we get a glass cleaner at center, we can live with Constanza and Doty with Tobiason and Dual for whenever White isn't on the floor. Constanza plays like a point forward on offense and can shoot, pass and drive. Having 4 versatile guys on the floor that are a little small for their positions can create mismatches. Hopefully more for the other guys than for us...

Constanza does get loose with the ball when playing against bigger more athletic players, but that is a common problem for guys who are so physically dominant at the high school level. But he won't be playing point here, Dual will be doing that, and with Doty, Tobiason and whoever the center is, Constanza will be able to pick his spots instead of being a star right away. His scouting report is really interesting.

Importantly, Constanza averaged 44% from 3pt range his whole high school career, and averaged 4 assists per game in the Puma Pro16 Circuit, along with 17.6 points and 6.8 rebounds against pretty good prep competition. Google said that 18 players in the top150 played in the Puma Circuit, so it isn't as good as the equivalent Nike league, but it isn't Moesch playing in Chittenango.

If we can afford him and he wants to come, you don't say no to a guy who could be a McDonald's All American based on his ratings.

Again Moesch hasn’t played in Chittenango in 2 years. He’s been in the NEPSAC.

What's interesting is why does he want out of his NLOI, Cooley is still there. I would advise against HS recruits doing it this time in the cycle unless you know for sure you have a landing spot since soo many programs are more focused on landing experienced college transfers. These HS guys are sort of overlooked and forgotten during this transfer portal period. Its not like 5-10 years ago.

I don’t argue any of that.
Except - Moesch hasn’t played for Chitt for 2 years.

But your last line is where the rubber meets the road, er - court.

WHY would he come to Cuse?

Could we even afford him?

Seems like he’d get more $ and more opportunities at a more established program.

We’re on our 2nd full reset in the last 3 years.
After another 5 years prior of “meh”.

Don’t get me wrong - it would be amazing if GMac could land this kid.

I just don’t see how.

I am enjoying the reflexive defense of Moesch every time his name comes up. Good work!

Moesch running up big scoring numbers at Chittenango was just a recent example of a good player putting up enormous numbers against weak competition. Moving to Cushing was absolutely the right choice for him. But against good competition, Moesch wasn't scoring 37 per game any more.

Constanza was putting up 18/7/4 against top150 players.
