I am 100% sure I have a better idea of how that job functions than you. But I'm not here to start a pissing war.
I just ran through all of your issues above. Please read my post with every single piece of information you and anyone else asked for.
Editor's Note: I do not work at SU nor do I know anyone in the athletic communications office at SU.
not sure what posting links to random sites does to make it easier to follow.
a twitter post showing some random links ?
cuse.com?
first this is upstate NY and think about the avg SU fan then ask yourself
how many use Twitter?
how many use facebook?
how many know cuse.com exists?
how many know how to stream to any of this stuff even now?
how many watch the new or read the paper these days..
And none of those links matter to someone if they dont know what their RSN is and if they are not Yankee fans most would never know where it is on their TV system
my 80 yr old IN-law just want to watch the game and have no clue about any of this. If the market was all 22 yr old kids thats a great way to let them know. So great we are helping 2% of the SU fanbase out.
This is a board, by the fact people are on here, that has some idea on use of tech and yet all week its been questions and confusion and more confusion. So if the hard core fans are confused the other 90% are confused or will be at noon on SAT when they get around to looking for the game..
people expect the game to be on their normal TV channels and it wont be. others expect it to be on their RSN cause by your own links there it is on YES and it wont be. After that its a muddled mess.
there are about 10+ ways for people to have access to watch, dont tell me that the Communications cant figure it out for every one of them or most of them. And once you do it for any single game its cookie cutter for most of the rest if the games all yr..
So
if you have youtube TV its X,Y,Z
if you have directv its x,y,x
if you have spectrum its x,y,x
if you have FIOS
if you have streaming only.
what channel, what time, is it TV is it streaming
handle it for NY state which will be 90% of the SU viewing market first.
worry about other states later.
communication is their job, dont push it off to other sites communication efforts.
