Game 1 Depth Chart / Game Notes | Tennessee

Fran mentioned we have 102 kids on the roster, so we basically have a full roster. What I really liked about the 2025 recruiting class was the size of it — he clearly built that class with the 105-man roster limit in mind, making sure we’d be fully stocked and ready.

I know some people keep saying that but I do wonder how much they really will rotate in the back-ups and if it will be any more than normal. Like on the OL i could see them rotating in 1 or 2 to see who performs the best but I'm thinking they may be just doing lots of rotation in camp to verify if they have the best guys, better develop a larger group of players so they feel comfortable to accelerate their growth, and just to make sure they have the subs ready if/when injuries occur. Plus I know they run practices at a pretty efficient fast pace at high intensity so the starters are getting a solid number of reps in regardless.
Fans underestimate the 'team' and consistency aspect of the OL reading and adjusting on the fly. There has to be an unspoken cohesion between linemen being able to quickly and seamlessly recognize and react to every presnap read, fake, twist, blitz and blocking assignments. Linemen react well with others due to reps and consistency. I don't want any, didn't you know to slide on that play.
