I think I know why but haven't seen any discussion here on SyracuseFan.com

Did I miss the discussion somewhere?

Additionally, Derek McDonald only played on special teams last week. He played zero snaps on defense.

And Berry Buxton who Coach Fran was very high on over the summer (took Berry to the ACC Media Day) only played 19 defensive snaps.


Three seniors, all former starters on defense, only played a combined 24 snaps on defense last week against Clemson.

The former back-ups all played well, and we came away with a W last week. I'm sure this has contributed to the lack of discussion regarding this.

Keep recruiting well and younger players will eventually pass up older players. Has Luke Carney passed Jakhari Williams in the QB room (I think so)?

I thought Duce and Buxton were both a bit questionable coming in. But 5 snaps for Duce is a bit odd. Maybe he went in and it didn’t feel as well as hoped?

Unfortunately for him, I think McDonald dropped back on the depth chart a bit. The other LB’s, AD, Sparrow and Tremble have seized the opportunity.

Carney is listed as an Or with Jakhari but Carney is listed first. So pretty sure he is now second. I think it’s been that way all season but it’s just being listed now with the Angeli injury. I’m gauging this by an Fran interview just before the season where he talked about all the QB’s in that order and gave me the impression that was the pecking order.
