Really disappointed with the game.

More and more injuries. It is ridiculous. I don't understand we are always on the turf.

Catch the friggin ball!

Desir [edit] drops a sure INT early in the game. The failure to make that catch cost us three points.

West fails to catch a decent streak throw by Long. Kendall Moore drops a great throw on a slant pattern by Long. And there were other drops.

To win games you have to make plays. You can talk about coaching all you want, but you have to make plays - you have to catch the ball.

Adonis is not getting enough carries. He is quick, he is strong and he gains yardage. I like Gulley, but he I just don't think he's an every down back. And even if he is, Moore has to get more playing time.

Our OL was dominated by NC State. And Pharaoh McKeever - No 87 - is a monster. He played all over the DL and of course in coverage. He is a real physical talent. The NC State OL was huge. Three guys at 6' 7".

The NC punter/kicker - really great.

I thought it was interesting that one of our OL went down Jamar McGloster - No 65 - came in the game. He is tall and athletic looking. I hope he is developing because we need some athletes at that position.

I still think that Long does some things very well and can be very effective. But he cannot be put in 1st and long and 3rd and long situations at this point in his career. I loved the option to Erv Phillips. And I loved a lot of Long's throws - he actually throws to space - in that sense he is a very mature QB for a kid.

Frosh Franklin, Thomas, and No 30 are very physical.

A lot of confusion and lack of execution on offense. It may have much to do with the very young QB but that side of the ball just does not look prepared to play. Clearly NC State impacted Long with intense pressure. - they confused him and forced bad throws and the crucial fumble.

I still hate the uniforms. I don't see SU Football out there. Bring back the classic Coach Mac look!!!

Despite another agonizing loss, I had fun in the Quad and in the Dome. Still the best sporting event I attend during the year.

AJ was running for his the entire game! I understand we have injuries everywhere but this isnt clemson, this was NC State and he couldn't even set his feet without having pressure. Once again our defense dominated only to have our Offense faulter. We have no offensive identity. The run game today was horrible.

the oline had issues but you have to admit the DL of NCst made some really good plays, several times they chased down plays that could have gone for much bigger yardage. still without the Pick TD pretty good chance the game is over if we score.. NC st never moved after the 3rd fg.

we have to stop dropping the simple throws 3-4 times a game, the WR made the tough catches all night.

The O-Line just didn't have issues they got dominated! Once again I understand guys are hurt but we made NC State Dline look like a group of 5star all americans. That is simply not the case. Yes I am glad there were times when our WRs made the tough catches, which in my opinion is something they are suppose to do anyhow. The drops, the lack of running, the poor protection, the crazy play calling, selecting to punt instead of go for it or kick the FG. it all translates to a lost team from top to bottom.

Two major things tonight.
1: injuries
2: PTG

We were one of the better OL in the conference, they are the fighting injured right now. As known, the 8 straight games has caught up to us. No way the OL that held FSU and ND to one sack is this same OL. They are all limping and struggling each play.We fought the good fight and made huge strides this year compared to last year as evidence against the top teams. ND, Clemson, and FSU were much closer. We are running on fumes. Looks like we are going to have a nice bunch redshirted for next year and is going to help depth. I have to applaud these guy's for fighting through.

Tonight was bad PTG. I have posted before about this, he is good to very good when he makes a cut and hits the hole. Today, he was trying to be the Sanders PTG and danced out of way to may holes instead of running North and South. I can count around 5 runs that he made a cut with a hole to hit and then made another cut into his own OL. Wonder if they were all in sleeping tight last night. I put it on the coaches for not keeping AAM in as he was very effective running head on. PTG had a very very very bad game and put us way behind on way to many drives by running backwards or making to many cuts. Did I say bad? It was BAAADDDDD.

I also noticed GMac doing a lot of talking/play signaling to Long. Not sure if it other than relaying the play but saw way to much side to side and not enough down the field in the first half. You can't be successful with so many injured OL.

Off season is going to be wide open for the QB position. All the Qb's do certain things well, as of right now, none have the complete package. It is hard to really break them down because all have had to deal with circumstances. Hunt had to deal with GM's offense, Long banged up OL, Wilson with the injury. Long needs to work on two things: the internal clock and either dump or run, second if he does run tuck it and go instead of trying to make a pass.

Lewis and Ish are going to be fun to watch in the future and the D is going to continue to be good. We have to find a QB hopefully one of the 5 here in the Spring will find it.

I don't know how severe big John's injury but the NCAA deserves all the evil that may befall them for jerking him around. Hated to see the kid down.

I think we have a lot of great things going on, I think we are missing a lot of pieces at the same time. I hate to admit this as I have always tried to be positive, it is frustrating being an Syracuse Fan. When it will all turn around I just don't know. We have to find someway to close on those "just missed" recruits.

Tough year specially for us season ticket holders. This one is just like Maryland. By the second half our D was dominating the O and we just gave it away.

Hunts out for the year FYI.

Awesome to see an onside kick actually work, though the ball got tipped and the touchdown should have counted. Although I sit under one jumbotron and can't get the best view looking across the Dome for the replay. Fun for those who stayed behind.

On the bright side, RUT and PSU lost!!!! PSU and fans are scum!!!

I know im probably in the minority but I liked the look of the uniforms much better than all blue other home look

I know I'm in the majority, but I really hate all of our uniform combinations.

Could be just because we look so bad playing in them, but I just don't like them at all. Given their lack of orange, I think they're just embarrassing. But I guess if it's landing us all these players no one else wants (as Shafer describes them), then who can argue with that.

Who goes to a school for jerseys (good or bad)

I just can't imagine thats a factor whatsoever when deciding where you will be going for the next 4 years of your life...

Have no recollection of West dropping a catchable pass. Also didn't think that ball was a sure INT by Reddish.

Agree 100%. Also nobody picks a school based on what fans on various message boards either. That is a myth I always laugh at. You might find the random kid in an interview say..."i like the helmets and think its cool" and fans and others run with that and spin it as to why he picked the school. But that's just nonsense.

He was on a post/fly pattern running up the left side of the field. Corner never looked back. He had to lean forward for it but it went right between his hands. Maybe the corner blocked his vision but he should have caught the ball. He usually catches those, I was really surprised he didn't catch that one.

Nope...just beyond his reach. Watch it again.

Would have been a great catch by West (which we're getting spoiled with). But was just so slightly overthrown, can't fault Long either, just didn't work out.

I have on occasion complained that McFarland should get more carries and maybe so, but what I saw yesterday is that moore should have been in all the time. Everytime he ran well in a series, they would go back t0 gulley. I like gulley cause he works hard but he does not go thru the first tackle where a-m does. He is a tough sob. He would have had 150 plus yds yesterday if they kept going to him. Confusing on why they feel the need to take someone out who is doing pretty good. Don't tell me he was gassed cause I will shoot someone. They only play oneside of the ball and his job is to run. Some backs will run 40 times in a game. I think smith needs to get his eyes checked. Its almost like they are doing it on purpose.

Also, why doesn't nmber 10 Kirkland play more. Davis is not doing crap out there unless he is blitzing where I see Kirkland everywhere. I even talked to Dan Conley and he loves the kid. Hard hitting and fast all while being disciplined in doing his job. Davis gets lost in space and as he has gained weight he has lost a ton of speed. He was way faster as a sophomore. Franklin I also love. Comes downhill hard and fast and great 3rd and 1 stop yesterday. Will start for us there next year. Hodge gets blocked to easily.

Yeah, I saw that West drop on the replay. Would have been along gainer. Reddish played a great game and I wouldn't get on him for that play.

Watch it on tv. That was not a catchable pass. Would have taken a spectacular catch.

Crap now I have to look it up again. Anyone remember when it happened?

DD played a great game. Kirkland by the way screwed up a fumble recovery by failing to fall on the ball. He tried to scoop and score.

cost us the game. With that recovery, we put that game away and the rest fo the game is played very differently.

What safety failed to rotate on NC St's last TD screen play? I think Davis was jumping up and down screaming at him to go. Definitely cost the team four points as that was third down.

Really? How about the stupid play Kirkland made by not falling on that fumble? How about the pick six AJ threw? BW I just watched that play in frame-by-frame and teh DE that dropped in coverage was there well before AJ threw it - he just didn't see him. Or, the dumb play calling at the end of tghe game after West's catch. That could have been a TD and after the onside kick recovery, the we might have been able to get into FG range.
One play out of 130-160 plays never makes the difference

The streak down the left sideline heading to the west end zone.

The ball was a bit long, but it hit Jarrod in the hands - he should have caught it.

Sorry, I was wrong. It was Desir early in the game near the east end zone.

Sorry Brandon!

Read carefully. The one play I was referring to was the Kirkland play. First fown at the 14 after scoring two straight td's, I think we go in and State is done at 21-9. Were there other plays, sure. Wihout the pick 6 I think we win. But the fumble was the play of the game.
