Game Observations

The streak down the left sideline heading to the west end zone.

The ball was a bit long, but it hit Jarrod in the hands - he should have caught it.

Sorry, I was wrong. It was Desir early in the game near the east end zone.

Sorry Brandon!
No way you can say he should have caught it. Watch it again.

I was sitting right there.

I saw it.

I said it.

He should have caught the pass.

Could he have caught it on the run - probably not. Would he have had to go horizontal - probably.

Would it have been an easier catch than the one made by Lewis on the TD - absolutely.

That's my opinion. I'm sticking with it.

Read carefully. The one play I was referring to was the Kirkland play. First fown at the 14 after scoring two straight td's, I think we go in and State is done at 21-9. Were there other plays, sure. Wihout the pick 6 I think we win. But the fumble was the play of the game.
Oops sorry. Confused it with the Reddish comment. However, the pick six was the play of the game for me.

He was on a post/fly pattern running up the left side of the field. Corner never looked back. He had to lean forward for it but it went right between his hands. Maybe the corner blocked his vision but he should have caught the ball. He usually catches those, I was really surprised he didn't catch that one.

That was my take.

I think the interesting thing is on quick three step drop passes where you need to lead the reciever slants curls and outs Long consistently throws behind or late to his recievers causing drops, passes defensed and steps out of bounds respectively. I think its a game speed thing hes used to slower HS recievers and doesn't expect his guy to get to his spot so fast. May be why he and Ishmael have had some chemistry also same level of FBS speed development and Ishmael has great hands.

Unfortunately given the condition of our OLine these are the type of passes we need to throw and complete. Protects the QB easier to get open moves the chains, and opens up longer throws on hitches and wheels.

I think it's safe to say that West was the least of our problems last night

It happened right in front of me...the pass was overthrown. Nothing West could do but maybe lay out.

Eh, that pass needed more air under it, he barely got his fingers on it.

Watch it on tv. That was not a catchable pass. Would have taken a spectacular catch.

I will do that I have not had a chance as of yet, looked catchable from the stands.

looked very catchable when I saw it live in tv. The replay showed it would have taken a remarkable catch.

the oline had issues but you have to admit the DL of NCst made some really good plays, several times they chased down plays that could have gone for much bigger yardage. still without the Pick TD pretty good chance the game is over if we score.. NC st never moved after the 3rd fg.

we have to stop dropping the simple throws 3-4 times a game, the WR made the tough catches all night.
Our OL made NCSt look like Clemson. So much for "next man up."

The play of the game came when we had the ball down 3 with a 2nd and 6 at our 42 with about 4 minutes to go. AJ hit Ishmael for an 8 yard completion to the 50, should have been a 1st down, instead Emerich gets called for a personal foul chop block 15 yards we have 2nd and 13 from 35. The next play AJ gets hit running from rush, fumbles game over.

didn't even look like aj got hit just looked like ball slipped out to me

The other nice thing that Moore did was catch the ball. At this point in the season, having a guy that catches the ball and isn't a WR is a big deal.

I've wanted Moore to be a bigger part of the offense since last year and have just gotten to the point where it's annoying trying to defend the fact that he is a good enough RB for us. People get so caught up on whether a RB can take it to the house. Who the @ck cares, let's use a guy that can get the football to the LOS and then an extra 3 - 5 yards past that on every carry. Moore has excellent feet for his size which I've been saying since we recruited him.
