Can't be as bad as MD last year! For one thing, our DC showed no ability to adjust to recurring quick passes over the middle. Don't see this happening with the new DC.

What would be served by announcing before required to? He may leave them off the two deep and they still might play (my hope!)

Not announcing it also gives them a better opportunity to change their mind. Once you announce it, harder to opt back in.

Do we know how opt outs have to be reported? If at all? They aren’t injured and they’re not playing, presumably they could opt in later in the season right?

Don't know the number but my understanding is that if you opt out, you have to pack up and go home. If you change you're mind, you can come back but have to go through the whole 2 week quarantine again before rejoining team.

What would be odd would be the coach volunteering info that will help the opponent prepare when he doesn’t have to.
