Overall it’s a good win and will look favorable come May. 8-2 heading into ACC play is probably about where a lot of us thought they’d be. Team has done a nice job of winning the games they should.

All that being said, they are infuriating to watch. You see glimpses like the 2nd quarter today and you see how dominant they can be when playing smart and within themselves. But the undisciplined mistakes and turnovers are going to catch up with them I fear

I can never remember how ejections go but because Kuz was ejected in the second half, that means he has to miss the first half of the Duke game correct?

Probably should have had 20 but between the stupid penalties and struggling a little with the zone defense just wasn't gonna happen.

Face offs not as good in the second half either, only went 5-12 if my math is correct.

A lot of credit to McCool today, would probably be my player of the game. The guys in front of him let him down on those first couple of shots but then he was dialed in.

3 great qtrs played just like denver game with lead. Then 4th comes n we decide to play stupid n get penalized bunch. Can not make these mistakes late vs top teams. have to play a full 60mins. this game should been a cruise to win

This is fair, also Duke only winning by 1 vs Denver makes me feel a lot better about our game on Monday, Denver is actually pretty good

I went and saw the Duke/Saint Joe's game in person a few weeks back. Duke is good, but they're not nearly as good as some of their recent teams. Top 10 I'd say, but I don't see them as a Final Four weekend team. A few guys who can seemingly score at will, but their offense doesn't seem to have a clear identity. And their D is also good, but not like in the past when they had 2-3 AAs at close/LSM. And...they don't have Naso facing off.

One final note: their SSDM guy that Carcaterra goes on and on about...dude loves to be physical and cross check yet he took one solid hit in that game and gave it the World Cup soccer treatment (And I like soccer, I just hate diving/faking across all sports). I'd have let him know my feelings, but even the visitor's side at the Duke games is full of the 9 lacrosse fans in Durham, so I kept quiet. You can't lay lumber and be borderline dirty and then roll around on the field looking for a 4 minute penalty call. Not cool.

Figured if would be a 16-11 type of game. So 18-12 works. Nice to see Leo start to take charge. Some of the less experienced players are stepping up. Fourth-quarter scoring drought concerning. But defense stood tall several times in the man down.

Chuck K is a total idiot and if a suspension happens because of that maybe it is for the best that he gets some consequences. The only damn way GT could have come back was with something like that. With the faceoff x and our o cooking there was no shot in hell they come back without something like a major non releasable penalty. Could have actually just let that guy go right down the middle and score rather than go for a big hit, and not only does he go for a big hit, he leaves his freaking feet like he wants to get suspended for weeks in the freaking NHL!! Just completely beyond idiotic. Like actually sabotaged a clear victory and for freaking what?????

Literally everything else was close to perfect. Defense in 6v6 overall fine, offense and transition elite, McCool and Mullen playing at their best, clears nearly perfect, box subs perfect, turnovers minimal, and no dumb penalties aside from that, but all it takes is one major eph up to have a shot at ruining everything!

John O and Gait have to draw a line between playing with an edge, and going for hits where the most likely result is a massively costly penalty instead of setting the tone. Yes he is an idiot, but how can chuck k think there is any sort of green light for that kind of thing at that point in the game? McCool and man down defense bailed us out from white knuckling what could have been a total dominant cakewalk.

But overall….a great win where we outclassed a tough opponent. Lots to be happy about too.

Totally agree, there is playing with an edge but you cannot be stupid because it will cost them eventually. I do think there is certainly a bit of overagressiveness with this team and at times is just unnecessary.

Chuck has 2 out for the three Hs, man has Heart and Hustle, but there is certainly no Head there, unless you mean Head Hunting.

To a lesser extent this cN describe the team as a whole at times, but specifically Chuck.

Totally agree, there is playing with an edge but you cannot be stupid because it will cost them eventually. I do think there is certainly a bit of overagressiveness with this team and at times is just unnecessary.

Granted there are some pros to having a physical game and playing with an edge. The MD game this year and the ND game in the dome last year come to mind. We set the tone early in those and it gave the defense/ground ball battles some extra juice in our favor. It can get in the opponents heads. We just gotta be able to have an off switch for that kind of stuff. 6 goal game in the 4th quarter where you have an advantage at the x. The staff has to actually get in peoples ears and say don’t go for any major hits from here on out. Should not be some impossible task for us to turn of the physical play in certain situations

It's just extra frustrating that for 3 quarters - the team was relatively composed. But then in Q4 up by over half a dozen all that went out the window. They're capable of being better but they need to show it for a full game

I gotta say all the haters on twitter/fan lax acting like they have never seen a high hit in their life is good for a chuckle. Connor walking up to Figueras and jabbing him right in the ribs an eternity after the whistle is fine though I guess. Can’t chirp us for losing so they gotta latch onto something. Just keep dominating teams and let them beach moan away. Georgetown couldn’t hit us back even if they wanted to. We were so much bigger and stronger.

He is. Our LSM depth will be tested. Bolognino should fill in but after him, I don’t believe Fliardi has played in our last 3 games. I believe he’s also been seen in Spring Football practice photos. May need Senior Dylan Sageder to step up.
