And yet another UGA player gets arrested for super-speeding... no suspension.

What kind was it? Some of them have 475 hp.a 2020 Dodge Durango?

I wasn't there - not in the police report. What kind was it? Some of them have 475 hp.
The power/dollar ratio is better than most, they're plentiful on the used car market, and they're bigger than most of their competitors for carrying friends.I wasn't there - not in the police report.
I do wonder why a lot of street racing perps use Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Durango, Chrysler 300...
In fact, Jalen Carter was driving a 2021 Jeep Trackhawk in the street race that killed two people... Stellantis products (CJDR...)

Yeah, the trackhawk has the same drivetrain that began in the hellcat chargers and challengers. It's pretty stupid. If you wanna drive fast, do it where nobody else is or on a sanctioned track.
I hate you... unless you're feeling generous. As someone who has had the challenger version of the 392 and the hellcat they are a boatload of fun. Also way too much car for a college kid though.
I hate you... unless you're feeling generous.
Lol well I don't have my hellcat anymore and had gotten that trading in my 392.. I miss it dearly though. Was the GoMango with the black hood and brass monkey wheels...
Oddly though I enjoyed the naturally aspirated 392 more. Mainly because the HCs power couldn't really be put down unless you had drag radials or waited and bought the widebody..
Feel free to DM for pics or talking cars anytime as I don't want to hijack further.
You’re a brass monkey.
Why you can buy an N54 335i at about $9K and if you dump $15K into it you'll have a car 1,000 pounds lighter that will smoke a hellcat that someone spent $70K on ... I have a 335xi and with a small tune and mods I'm pushing 450 hp and pass Camaros like they are parked. Between the twin turbo setup and the lighter weight you will embarrass folks that buy over priced toys. Take a look at David Kang's build:I hate you... unless you're feeling generous.
Mine has 200K miles and runs like a top. Mine is a daily and took up to nearly 200 mph on road Atlanta … difference is I can build 2 at $70K … if the excuse is the hellcat is a daily driver then I’m even more dumbfounded.Lol figured a modder would show up. Big thing using old beamers and audis is it's cheap to start but in 5 years you've zipped past that 70k if you are still trying to keep up. My old co worker used to go to the track with me. Many HC owners also don't know how to drive. I never did a tune on mine at all left it stock except for running wider tires ( which I could put way more power down and in the 10s). Co worker was into his close to 70k keeping up with it and replacing parts. Not to mention it's one thing if all you are doing is running it at the track vs using it for a daily plus the track.
End of the day it's not all comfort and tuned speed/acceleration. It's about the nostalgia and sound too. Of course if I wanted to win every drag I'd just drop the money on an used Tesla or a hollowed out old supra etc. Lots of ways to beat the expensive cars if that's your only goal.
I'll just add not knocking or challenging you- I love all of that stuff and have a few friends big into it and do their own builds crazy cheap.

614hp BMW 335i - Supercar Killer
It would have been hard to believe it, had I not been the one driving. A E92 BMW 335i shouldn't be racing a Nissan GT-R, unless you get a kick out of losing. Buwww.motortrend.com
Plus BMWs handle far better when you convert to air ride. He is only pushing 614 HP .. the new Ghassan N54s push over 1000 hps .. for a fraction of the cost you'd send a hellcat packing.

Quite frankly the hellcat is overrated for the price. If I wanted to be flashy I’d buy an M5 and apply the stage 2 tyne and do 0 to 60 in 2.9 like a Tesla. It’s done at the BMW school in Spartansburgh regularly … driving instructors love it. Call me a modder I could care less … I just have better things to spend the $40K I save to go just as fast if not faster. The muscle car community meathead mantras about this continue to crack me up.
10 flat … AWD in the XI allows me to have a lot of fun in sport mode at the start … gapped a pathetic 392 on RT 316 in Lawrenceville GA by several car lengths … I find many Challenger/Charger drivers like to do the red light rev bit … the next red light they see are my tail lights. To each their own to not further hijack. You under 10.5 ? If not you wouldn't be smoking my old HC .
Sure. You can always find lighter cars and sink a few bucks into them and make them stupid fast. I knew a guy that modded Eagle Talons and later Evos and embarrassed anyone that came around. And there have been Buick Grand National guys running 1000+ hp for over 20 years now. To do all that, you have to have the space, time, and know how to do it. I definitely don't have the first two. The last one I have a little of and could get the rest if I had the first two. Without those three things, you have to pay someone nearly as much for something that's older without a warrantee and maybe not as cohesive or durable. All that's great. I love hearing/reading about people doing cool builds. But usually you also hear about them adding a bunch of power, then they have to beef up/swap out the when it breaks, or get stronger axles when they snap, or diffs when they explode. It can add up pretty fast if you get extreme. Why you can buy an N54 335i at about $9K and if you dump $15K into it you'll have a car 1,000 pounds lighter that will smoke a hellcat that someone spent $70K on ... Yes that feeds my point. Why drop $70K? To say you can? I don’t even need to further my point.Sure. You can always find lighter cars and sink a few bucks into them and make them stupid fast. Objectively, the ZL1 1LE Camaros and Shelby GT500's are also better all around performing cars off the showroom floor. And I'm sure there are already people taking base model C8's and throwing on forced induction for cheap to add a bunch of power to the already amazing chassis. But I'm a mopar guy, the Challenger/Chargers have usable back seats and are fast and nice without ever opening a toolbox. There's something to be said about that. And a car that runs 10's with a warranty is pretty cool.
If I had the cash, I'd go really extreme and build an Ariel Atom style mid engine exoskeleton car with about 600 hp and make it a weekend toy.
Actually when you say “a modder chimes in” that’s the old muscle car meathead mentality … why because I don’t feel the need to spend a stupid amount of money on a car when I can do something as well if not better for half the cost? It's not meat head at all. Just depends on what you like and enjoy. Point was there is no need to go after someone else who enjoys their car just because they spent more than you. It was always fun at the track no matter what you were running unless you felt you had a point to prove because you had more under the hood and spent less to get it or built it.
I deleted my comment not to further side track as to how it came off. I've heard the stories of guys running the same as you who've spent way more than I did on mine off the lot plus tires to run on after their originally build was pennies on the dollar.

He spoke about feeling generous the point I made was you can have that same or better experience at half the price. As I said for half the cost you could bury a car someone paid $70K for .. I wasn’t being snobby … now if I said I spent $140K on a vehicle to bury a hellcat that could be seen as snobby or pretentious… saying there is a more affordable way makes me snobby .., so be it.It was in response to what came off as a snobby comment about smoking HCs was all so responded in kind albeit tongue in cheek. I don't get the arrogance or need to knock others down.
What's it matter what someone wants to spend if they have it to spend? Earned it and it works in the budget. Not to mention doing a build takes time and time isn't cheap either.
That funky monkey? You’re a brass monkey.
Because it's the car someone wanted and it happened to be that much. It could be the way it looks or the way it sounds. It could be the same reason someone buys a new M4 instead of your older car even though the new one is slower. Why spend what you've spent on a bimmer? It's kinda funny someone is propping up a luxury car as a value option. I'm sure there are other cars that can be purchased and modified cheaper that are as fast or faster. In the the early 2000's I saw a street driven Eclipse go to the strip, swap on slicks, and run 8's. I'm not sure why you even turned this into a debate. I simply complimented someone on their car. It's cool you have one that you enjoy too, and I'm glad you've been able to turn it into the machine you wanted to. This was never meant to be a contest.Yes that feeds my point. Why drop $70K? To say you can? I don’t even need to further my point.
Dude, it was a joke. I also said I hate him. Did you think that was serious too? The generous part was sarcastically suggesting he give me his car. Nothing in my comment you referenced was meant to be serious. He spoke about feeling generous the point I made was you can have that same or better experience at half the price. An N54 e92 335 can be had for sub $10K … I don’t think people are aware of what can be done with a moderate budget let alone a large one. I can tell you this much I will swear by that brand as my X4 literally saved mine and my daughters life … if I were in some of the domestic models we would both be dead or as the mechanic told me … most cars I see that go through this don’t hold up to anything like this. There is something to also be said about manufacturer quality and making something that doesn’t look like it could or should fly ride like the chariots of the gods.Because it's the car someone wanted and it happened to be that much.
