Gill, Locksley, Holtz ...

Yeah. He started off as the o-coordinator at the University of New Hampshire and won a ton of accolades for a D2 coach. He was then hired as the o-coordinator at Oregon and the rest is history. They definitely saw the writing on the wall.
The thing is I think we are starting to get to the point where our offense is as fast in terms of tempo just need to increase ability.

Matt wherever did you get that avatar, lol

I made it (or rather, Jordan did). The guy who was the official licensee backed out of doing some shirts that we had planned, so I'm doing a few of these just on my own.

I had a feeling that Jordan had a hand in it. Is there a link to her art work?

I haven't updated her old site in a while, and took it down. Just bought a new Apple server, though, and plan to put it up again soon. I'm working on a book that will talk about the various treatment options we provided as parents, the story of her recovery (she's in her 2nd year at OCC and has a 3.7 GPA so far, as well as a boyfriend ...), which will feature her artwork prominently. She also happens to be working on another animation project right now. I'll post a link when she finishes it up.

Never forget when she sang on the big screen at Chevy Court. Great to hear of her progress, you and your wife have done a wonderful job of cultivating Jordan's gift's.

And friends like you are a blessing, Dan. All the best.

Career records of coaches of interest since Marrone's hire:

Kiffen - 27 and 13, 1 bowl loss, 2 other seasons bowl eligible by record without a bowl invite due to NCAA infractions

Golden - 24 and 15, 1 bowl loss, 2 other seasons bowl eligible without a bowl invite, one of which the U decided to withdraw from any bowl invite due to ongoing investigation

Holtz - 24 and 17, 1 bowl loss and 1 bowl win

Edsall - 20 and 20, 1 BCS bowl loss, 1 bowl win

Marrone - 17 and 22, 1 bowl win

Gill - 10 and 26

Locksley - 2 and 26, has the funniest line of any in his Wikipedia entry "Locksley led his Lobos to 1–11 records his first and second seasons." (emphasis added)

Make what you will of the above. For whatever it's worth, Marrone's record against those coaches is pretty bad. I could be wrong, but my count he's 1 and 5 against those coaches.
I get your point but I am sure we all realize that coaches don't play and we were really a bottom of the barrel program when DM took over. I have been saying that I thought this year was his "baseline" year meaning that there should be a different standard and greater expectations from here forward. He has had his time to build back to a competitive level and it is now time to win. I believe he will.

Impressive thing is that Marrone has rebuilt without relying on any significant impact recruit -- yes, we have Broyld & Thompson in waiting but they haven't been much of a factor yet. It hasn't been fancy; he has built a team with many 2 and 3 star recruits, several jucos, and a few carry-overs.

So many posters feel good about the state of program, when we are on a 7 game slide -- would that happen at any other college?

Wasn't Lombardi's name mentioned? He was also on the Saints staff

Im not writing Marrone off, but I'm pretty amazed at the love being shown to the coach of a team who hasn't won in 11 months!!!

Jury still out on Edsall, Golden and Holtz at least.

Still, love the Marrone hire.

If you can't see past the string of losses and understand how far this program has come since Marrone got here then you just don't get it... and most likely never will.
