Girard hears his critics

Well the kid hears the criticism and challenges himself vs running away from it. That is a positive for sure.

With that said I know this is hoops but -Dino has ruined belief without evidence for me so let's get that evidence rolling in!

Sacrificing summers at home and staying in Syracuse is a big deal. It worked for Jonny..Scoop..Dion..Devendorf..Arinze..Southerland..Kris Joseph and the list goes on. Won’t mention the kids who chose differently but it definitely translates.

Not to mention his backcourt mate does nothing but work on his game at every opportunity and it has worked well for him. Not a better example to follow.

The article talked to Girard and JB but didn’t make an effort to get the other side.

Another example of how corporate media is failing the people imo.
It’s a blog article on a Syracuse basketball player in which they talked to said player and his head coach. What other side? You wanted them to get quotes from message board posters?

I don't know of too many people who hated on Buddy the last 2 years.
He worked hard on his game. As a freshman, many thought he got playing time due to WHO
he was.
But JG3's case is different. No doubt having Covid slowed him down...shot selection was questioned...ALOT!
And then JB told Kadary Joe would be his starting PG for 21/22...K hit the portal. So there's pressure on JG as a result. As a point guard, he's got to have a strong handle, he's got to distribute the ball, he's got to penetrate and hit the floater, and hit the 3 when it's there...all this and 32 minutes a night. Big shoes to fill while the ghost of Richmond looms.

objectively, jg3 had a down year last year and everyone knows it.

the people who noticed on the internet arent necessarily haters...a lot are just die hard fans keeping it real...some may have taken it a bit far but i dont think the sentiment has ever been vitriolic...more humorous if anything if you ask me...

kadary was a big time talent who left, at least partially bc he was second fiddle to a less than perfect jg3. i think fans who pay attention have a legit reason to be down that he left and connecting the dots seems pretty obvious...the way jb managed the roster put a lot on jg3 shoulders and he didnt come up roses all the time last season...kadary can do the things joe struggles with and that the team needs...

but he came up big in NCAA tourney until houston blew the doors off the orange.

if he can turn it up a notch from where he was freshman year...he can be a good enough pg to lead this team to its highest potential.

that said, there are some limitations he has that wont really be fixed with hard work i.e. size and speed.

having a point gaurd who cant score in the paint is a tough obstacle for a team to overcome if it wants to win it all, imo...if he can incorporate that into his game he will take this team to the next level.

he obviously has heart;...wouldnt be where he is at his size without it...

hopefully he can channel some chris paul/steve nash this year and hit a higher % of 3's...wanna see more assists and less bonehead plays...

Once you get on his wavelength you'll appreciate his posts.

God forbid someone takes a weekend off to go fishing. Is someone going to get on Buddy and Joe's case in 20 years because they played golf.

First, whatever gets him motivated, all for it. He can do the same thing as Alvin Mack did for all I care. It's good to see him grinding and hope he plays great for us and for himself. Again, I'd love to see him be our Kyle Lowry.

Got to say, the JB quote in there was a little odd.

“People forget he was not a point guard in high school. He’s played the position for two years. He’s been better than everybody out there on the internet thinks. The internet haters that want to hate on Joe like they hated on Buddy,” Boeheim said.

Bold, mine.

What is JB doing here? Listen, it's JB's program, so he can say what he wants, but this makes him seem a little sensitive.

Everyone hates Buddy? Everyone hates Joe? I mean, is he going for the "nobody believes in us" thing this year?
