Wow, Gonzaga almost made the top of the list of big touny crashes. They came close to not only being the first FF team to lose to "First Four" team but to lose an undefeated season to an 11 seed.

I’m sure their fans’ stomachs were in knots.

But UCLA really played about as well as they possibly could. And that’s after they just beat Alabama and Michigan. Nothing lucky about their run: they’re playing like one of the best teams in the country lately.

Great game. Gonzaga’s kids really stepped up rather than folding under the pressure. Impressive.

Gonzaga is an incredibly impressive team this year - especially that Suggs kid. But they are also now Dook-like in the deference that they receive from the refs. Baylor has their work cut out for them tomorrow night.

Yeah, I'm choosing to believe that UCLA played an awesome game, not that Gonzaga almost blew it. You have to give the Bruins credit.
Having said that, Gonzaga needs to make a few adjustments for Monday. First and foremost, get the ball to Timme more.

Not what I took out of that great game at all.
That was not my intent. Yes a great game. Just what FF game should be. But down the line, history would first see the result, not the whole picture. History tends to do that. Thats why I said the list of crashes.

Shouldn't we give Gonzaga credit for the comeback instead of taking the negative slant you did?

It is still UCLA, with quality players and coaching. Sure, first four and 11 seed. But they played unbelievable basketball and still couldn’t take down Gonzaga, albeit they were about as close as one can be.

Hottest team in the tournament played their A+ game and the zags still found a way to come out on top. Hopefully they get it done tomorrow, rooting for them.

Why? We don’t owe Gonzaga anything.

UCLA is pretty young. Mostly sophomores and also Juzang’s first year playing at UCLA after leaving Kentucky - takes a while probably to mesh.Cronin is a good coach, his players always play physical and tough defensively.

Both teams played great had the zags.lost it would have been because ucla played near a perfect game.

Young and good means leaving for the money.Hard to grow a team of good young guys.

Probably very true. It will be interesting if Juzang stays or leaves.

I was just looking at Athlon's list of biggest tourny upsets. (#10 is S U losing to Richmond) and #3 is 2nd seed Duke ending 1 seed UNLV's unbeaten streak. So I guess my original idea that a Gonzaga lose to UCLA would have been one of the top upsets of all time. I'm not surprised that Gonzaga won, anytime I've seen them, they seem so poised.

Awesome game. UCLA played their best and if Juzang just pulls up and shoots the 10 footer instead of plowing into Timme, the bruins win.

Surprising that UCLA wasn’t better during the year, but I guess as we’ve seen sometimes it comes together late. They have some very talented players on that team.
Well, they played in the best conference. Also, didn’t they have to play most, if not all, games in the road, due to California restrictions?

"blowing it" infers they did something stupid...made a mistake. I didn't see that. I saw two really good team battling neck and neck the entire way. A great game. A great battle. Two teams that played their hearts out.
