Good luck to Alec Lemon today

Without a doubt. I think we can all agree that Williams was the most talented/skilled WR we have had in a long time, but with him being the Billy Edelin of the football program, you just never knew what you were going to get and when and you couldn't count on him. So taking that into account, Lemon probably is the best in awhile. I think he is under appreciated because people long for that 6'3 kid or the kid with 4.3 speed of which Lemon is neither. But he's not small and he's not slow and is so consistent and dependable that it puts him among the best. If he comes back 100% whether it is this fall or next, I would expect him to be 1st all BE and an NFL draft pick.

Kid runs routes very well, catches well, blocks well.

He's more than just a possession receiver, but as noted not the classic big play #1 receiver.

When was he hurt? How many of those 68 receptions were caught when he was injured?
A bunch...I knew he was hurt for at least the last half of the season.

All that too.

I knew he was hurt the previous year and though we were seeing this year what he could do when fully healthy. Maybe we'll see that next year.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Great kid and its been nice to have met him a time or two with Sean and Ellen. Best receiver here since I don't know when.

Alec is definitely "Captain" material.

Williams gave me "bupkis" in Week 15 this year, and it knocked me out of the fantasy playoffs.

Screw him. :) :):)

He undergoes some significant shoulder surgery today. Here's hoping for the best for him.
I don't see what the big deal is. Last time I saw Lemon he clearly had two shoulders...just tell him to use the other one. I've seen him make a one handed catch a time or two. :D

Here's to a speedy recovery!

Go...I happen to agree with cuseincincy. Taj was the only weapon we had for a couple of years and teams had to give him full attention.

He played a total of 16 games and was opposite Mike Williams in all of them, and that includes 12 games in the mad bomber year of 2007.

considering his future is on the line I wish him all of the best in the cutting room. Having been on the table and heard these words"Quick get the paddles" I know what can happen in there.:bang:

significant as in it is not arthroscopic surgery. they are opening his shoulder up to repair some torn labrum cartilage but also reattach a bone that broke away.
Ouch that stinks.A good surgeon is the best start for Alex.

The kid played hurt again most of this season. True warrior. Yes, best wishes for this to go well and for Alec to have an injury free senior season. Hope some other WRs develop so he doesn't have to play crazy reps in 2012.

I've held a very high opinion of Alec ever since reading his comments after Gump was let go. He's done nothing but elevate my opinion ever since. I wish all of our players had his character, and that's not a knock on most of the players on the roster.
