GOTTDWEEB at Gtown half has to go out of his way to say

In what way is Fab a great player?

He's a good fit on a good team. Not a great player by any stretch.

Did you notice he plays for SU? All you need to know.

The inferiority complex sometimes is amazing.

No. He's not great. Take off the orange tinted glasses for two seconds and at least attempt to view things without a Syracuse bias. Fab Melo is improving, and someday COULD be great, but he is a very, very long way off and probably won't reach that point until after he's done at SU, if ever.

Gottlieb is more rational on his radio show. On television, he says things intentionally for shock value and to piss people off. He has admitted as much. I just don't listen to the guy

Thats your opinion, Your entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine

Gottlieb is exactly right and I bet you a million bucks that JB would agree with his assesment. The sensitivity is at an all time high.

I have a shrine to fab melo at the crib !!! Seriously though the dude is great
\

Anthony Davis is a great player. Kevin Jones is a great player. Fab is a nice player who is playing a very important role in what we do on both offense and defense. I am a big fan of him and applaud what he has done to get into better shape this year. Its one thing to be a fan of a player but to call him great is just not accurate. Great players dont average 7 points and 5 rebounds per game.

I was not trying to sound like Fab's agent but. If you dont look at last year (which i would through out) and judge him off of this year.

He is a monster inside blocking shots, and a bruiser. He is our enforcer he brings a swagger to this team that (all do respect to rick jackson) we didnt have last year. The dude if we featured him more his stats would be more that just 8 ppg. And lets not forget dude might be the big east defensive player of year

Comparing his growth from last year to this year means he is a vastly improved player, not a great player. Big difference. I could compare my ability to write with my right hand to my left and notice a big difference, but that doesn't mean my normal chicken scratch handwriting is great penmanship.

I hope you're a woman. Otherwise, this is a man crush carried to the irrational extreme.

okay maybe im just little exicited that he is coming back. But i just have alot of respect for him and what he went through last year on and off the court. He stuck it out when alot of ppl me included thought he would bail. I just have alot of respect for him and he seems like a great guy

can you at least give me, Potential Big East Defensive Player or year,

(this doesnt change how i feel bout gottlieb)

Was Hamady N'Diaye at Rutgers a great player?

He averaged 9.4 PPG, 7.1 RPG, and 4.5 BPG.

Funny, all of which are better than Fab. I love Fab, and we really need him to make a run at the National Championship, but holy . He's not a great player. He's a good player that has a big role on our defense and a so so role on offense.

no wasnt a good player. He was just a dude

Okay Fab is a nice player with the potential to get better. I have seen the error of my ways

Gottlieb is a dweeb. Fab Melo is a great player. I will defend that guy forever !!! Best luv Fab
The word "great" gets thrown around too much. Fab is a good college player with the potential to be very good.

Question: If Fab is great, where does that leave DWade, LBJ, Durant and others?

What he went through off the court is of his own making. What has that to do with earning respect?

It has gotten so that if I see "Gottlieb" or any bastardization of his name in the title of a thread, I don't even read it. This one got past me since I saw Gtown first.
The name of that despicable team is even less reason to read a post...unless it's followed by words such as "loses by 20."
Which is the fate awaiting them one week from tonight.
I LOOOOOOAAAAAATHE G-town!

People need to get over this gottleib obsessionfest. Every team in the country this year has been criticized in one way or another by someone in the media. Every single team. I watch more college hoops than anyone on this board and I have heard every team in the top 15 get shots taken at them. This what these guys are paid to do. Analyze. Criticize. Nitpick. Sometimes complement.
Marsh, you really think "you watch more college hoops than anyone on this board"? How many games do you watch? Sheesh, I watch an average of 2 games a day and way more on the weekend with ESPN3 and the ability to TEVO games on my TV. If I watched anymore I'd start to sound like Gottlieb and I don't want that!

Thanks Doug you just got Melo another year in orange.
If hes not great no reason to leave early.

I love how the tender encouragement of posters helps to reground wayward Syracuse fans back into the fold. Touching thread.

Lets just put it this way. I watched the entire Alabama State/Texas Southern game on Monday night. I mean cover to cover. Watching good college basketball is one thing. I watch ALL college basketball. I watch the Ivy league and MAAC games on Friday night. I watch the SWAC games late Monday nights. I watch at least 5-6 hours a day and on the weekends its easily 8-10 hours. (a lot of it is at night where I may be up until 3 am) I am easily up until 2 am on a nightly basis. Some I do DVR. I usually stay up to watch either college basketball live or inside college basketball on CBS College Sports.

Thats with married and 2 kids. It wasnt meant to brag, its just something I love to do.

Throw in the fact that Bug Blue is in the Super Bowl and all of the shows on SNY that I watch on a daily basis and I probably am going to go blind from watching television.

I'm going to put you on our prayer list at church dude! All kidding aside I didn't think it possible to watch that much basketball. I mean, I think I watch it to the point of not having enough balance in my life during college basketball season, but different strokes for different folks and I commend you on your dedication to the sport!
