GOTTDWEEB at Gtown half has to go out of his way to say

I'm going to put you on our prayer list at church dude! All kidding aside I didn't think it possible to watch that much basketball. I mean, I think I watch it to the point of not having enough balance in my life during college basketball season, but different strokes for different folks and I commend you on your dedication to the sport!

Heh, I appreciate it and acknowledge your dedication as well. I just hate winter with a passion and this is my "golf" season until "golf" season starts.

That's why I moved to Florida. It's always golf season here dude!

Thanks for rubbing it in...tough to keep the handicap low when you take 4 months off.

Did we just have a slightly irritated exchange turn into two people beginning to understand and like each other? Did...did we just witness a Meg Ryan/Tom Hanks romantic comedy in this thread?

Edit: Sorry I'm about to ruin the fuzzy romantic interludes...

Death, Taxes, Whiny SU Fans & Gottleib Rants!

Year after year Gottleib threads and whiny paranoid SU fans. Its his job to tick you off, at least make him earn his money!

Everyone knows or should know, DG grew up in an SU household rooting for cuse. JB didn't offer him so he had resentment. There is no conspiracy, he likes SU more than you'd think. He hates SU too. I understand his love hate with SU, most of us would feel the same way. What I will never understand is...

The SU fan base is the most paranoid group with the biggest inferiority complex in sports outside the pre-title Red Sox fans.

That's so much more annoying act like you've been here before. Gottleib is a , who cares. He's childish in his jabs at SU, his family, some friends and some coworkers are SU fans and he revels in our misery. It's ok and you know what I really don't blame him.

Like I said its Doug's job to piss you off, let's all try to make him work a little harder!

We have alums and fans working in the media all over the country. We get enough good press, take off your tin foil hats people!

"It's his job" is in essence the Nuremberg Defense. I'm not saying he should executed, which would be ironic. But if folks think that defense is indeed valid, it should be his employers we hold at fault. I have derided their hiring abilities lately, thinking there has to be something better out there, just like potential BE referee recruits.

going to disagree with you. I think Fab is a great player. And if he stays another year. He might be one of the greatest !!!
Then you are nuts. He is not as good as Etan Thomas, at least not yet. Was Etan a great player? No.

I was not trying to sound like Fab's agent but. If you dont look at last year (which i would through out) and judge him off of this year.

He is a monster inside blocking shots, and a bruiser. He is our enforcer he brings a swagger to this team that (all do respect to rick jackson) we didnt have last year. The dude if we featured him more his stats would be more that just 8 ppg. And lets not forget dude might be the big east defensive player of year

or...if we featured him more, he might foul out of games sooner and we might have lost more than one game to this point. He is a terrific complimentary player at the moment with a much higher ceiling. Definitely not a great player right now.

Jeremy McNeil averaged 3 ppg, 2.7 rpg and 1.5 blocks in 13 mpg his senior year.

That is similar production to Melo's 7.2 ppg, 5.7 rpg and 3.0 blocks in 22.6 mpg this season.

Jeremy must have been a monster inside and a great player. Imagine what he could have done if he had played 35 minutes per game.

Throw in the fact that Bug Blue is in the Super Bowl and all of the shows on SNY that I watch on a daily basis and I probably am going to go blind from watching television.

Hah you'll go blind but its only indirectly from watching that much television, more closely related to having to hang with Rosie Palm and her 5 sisters because your wife feels like she is an ESPN widow.

Ha, thankfully she is a junkie too. She also has her alone time with the TV and her goofy shows so its all good. Rosie and I are very tight.

Going with the Nuremberg Defense is a little (actually a lot) inappropriate when we're talking about a sports talk-show analyst. "I was just following orders" in the context of entertainment in order to spur viewer/listener interest is a far different animal when it's about breaking laws. It's perfectly fine for an entertainment company, like ESPN, to have "good cops" and "bad cops".

"What the hell do you MEAN Brandon Reese wouldn't start at Duke despite being approximately the same size as a gnome and overall not very good"

Hey hey, I'm sticking up for the other gnomes on this board.
