Great Albums

Tee, I've been to more Brother shows than I could even possibly count. I'm hoping to catch them at the Beacon next March and help my son pack up for moving back here to Fla. The 1st time I saw the Brothers was at Watkins Glen with the Dead and The Band. I'm certain I will never witness a festival like that again in my lifetime. I was 17 at the time.
Great company, man! I too have seen a bunch, especially college and a little after college days.

Dylan: Highway 61, and John Wesley Harding

Metallica : Ride the Lightning

Greatful Dead : Workingmans Dead, American Beauty

On a bit of a different tack here, but it certainly deserves mention ...

The Makem and Clancy Concert, recorded live in Australia in 1977.

And if you're a fan of the genre, the eponymous The Bothy Band from 1975, the album that saved Irish music from the dreaded "death by bullet-proof traditionalism" that fairly suffocated bluegrass.

Totally! They could have been a great studio band if they wanted.

I think they were both a great studio band and the most amazing live original jam band.

I might be a little biased though.

"There is nothing like a Grateful Dead concert"

(I just learned the original dancing bear died)

And if you didn't know, yesterday was the 18th year Anniversary of Jerry's passing. :( Which coincidentally was also the day I met my future wife and also coincidentally is the birthday of my newborn nephew :).

On that note, Europe '72, Reckoning, Dick's Pick (any of the 36 is fine), Without a Net, Dozin'at the Nick. One/Two.Three from the Vault, Hartford '77

I will add my favorite bootleg that I own is Cornell 5-8-77.

Ok, enough Dead, I think I made made my point. But I have a crazy diverse musical taste so I am going to list some newer albums I just love.

Metric : Fantasies

Tegan and Sara : The Con

Muse : Black Holes and Revelations
