I was getting greedy. I thought we were a great team. We're not. We're a good team. You don't usually go from bad to great and skip what's between.

I think we have to win 2 of the next 4. UNC and Louisville are struggling teams and must wins in the Dome.

I saw what happened to Wake today, but by the time we play them, at Wake, I'm guessing it will be a flip of a coin. NC State is pretty good, but they're at the Dome.

I really don't have any faith in the last two. As awful as the D looked in the 4th quarter today, it's just going to get worse. We've seen it two years in a row and I don't see any sign that we won't wear down again. We're doing it in games, and it will compound. We just don't use enough players, especially at LB. I did see Lakiem in there for at least one snap, for whatever that's worth.

On offense, I don't know if I've seen Dungey have a worse game in all his time here. Nothing about the way he threw the ball today looked right. He had some Mahoney level throws. A lot of them.

There are positives of course. Pass rush is insane. I think the RBs looked pretty good. Taj Harris looks like he's going to be special. Loved the start of the game.

I'm not jumping off cliffs, but in Dino's time we've seen some head scratching defensive performances. Maybe it's just a product of college football today, but today was hard to watch.

Get a week off, regroup, take care of business against UNC and then we can still look forward to NC State. I think we're a 7 win team, and that's pretty good after a couple 4 win efforts. It will get us a 13th game, and the future still looks bright.

Not sure if we are regressing or the playbook on how to beat us is getting more solidified, but this game had the same whiff of what we've seen in the second half of the last two seasons.

We all know that injuries and lack of depth were legitimate factors in prior stumbles, but should it go tits up again in the same fashion, those excuses can't be trotted out again in year three with much conviction.

Dino and staff have something they need to prove here and now.

The blue print is there... get a lead and run the ball down our throats. Not to mention our offense was dysfunctional all day.

The scary thing is it's simple...

The team has great pieces now, but still most pieces are average. If we could have a great facility, a great coach, a great quarterback, and the average of our players catching up with the average of ACC schools, then we will have a great team. And it could happen very soon since SU now pays very close attention and heads to the right direction.

That doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

We have a great coach, a very good QB, some good running back and receivers. But defense and offense lines are below average compared to other ACC teams. They get tired easily, run out of gas in the fourth quarter, not only against Clemson and Pitt but also against Western Michigan and UConn.

The other blueprint is man up the wideouts because, other than Custis, they cannot get separation and don’t let Dungey beat you with his legs.

Now, how do we adjust?

Teams don’t even need to get a lead. They can come back from double digits and win by just running down our throats.

No doubt, especially with that joke of a linebacker crew. What was rather astonishing to watch, was just how Pitt was so laissez faire in their last drive in regulation when they needed a field goal to tie. They just took their sweet 'ol time and you could just sense from their actions that they knew they'd run, run, run and we wouldn't be able to stop them. So disheartening and frustrating to watch.

The inability or unwillingness to do anything at linebacker in terms of building depth absolutely pisses the shiz out of me.

They're wearing down. We don't see anybody come off the bench. It happened last year, it's happening now, and it'll happen next season when we break in another new set of linebackers. It's maddening.

Would love to hear the thiught process behind this too. To my knowledge our natural run stopping LB’s are guthrie, williams and cullen. 1 got significant time. Whits gettin banged around and i have nothing much to say about armstrong

I thought Armstrong had some moments.

Whitner is weird. It's like he looks to get jammed by a blocker.

Guthrie made a few plays, I just don't think he can play at a high level for 4 quarters.

I just dont understand why Richards, Shy, and Lakiem arent platooned in. are they that behind?

Also, Foster is just so inconsistent its maddening

True and we ignore our formula to win which is not taking the foot off the pedal, getting a second half lead and making teams throw the ball in the 4th quarter.

I think the Richards move to DE is permanent. Lakiem definitely got in one play, but yeah, I don't know why not more. Shy's dad said he got hurt early on.

Wallace is another one I wouldn't mind seeing. Just a few snaps here and there, keep the others fresh throughout.

I asked Babers that in the last Coaches show and didn't get much of an answer.

Not at all happy with the LB's and this game seems to be a blur to me right now but how well did the DL do against the run? The paper doesn't include tackles for some reason and I'm just curious if the DE's got caught inside too much, did they miss tackles? Did the DT's do anything? It's obvious that the key is for SU to get ahead by a lot and force the team to pass in order to get back to the game but when it comes to a rock fight I have to wonder if this D can stop any big/quick back with good blocking.

As for the rotation of the LB's, I have no idea why they rotate so little and when the starters played a lot of snaps in blowouts I assumed they had to get more game experience and that was why they played so much but looking at them right now this was and is our biggest concern as we knew this before the season started and let's hope this gets figured out during the bye week and maybe not fixed but at least manageable.

We were well on our way but then we gave up a 65 yard TD run and ED handed the ball off to the wrong team for a TD. It’s amazing how this team can find ways to lose. It’s almost uncanny.

When SU got that turnover late in the game and didn't score a TD/kicked a FG, you had to know it would bite them in the butt and it did. It just amazes me on games like this how many different scenerios and endings there could be with a tackle here or a pass caught there.

Well, I get doubled whammied almost every weekend as a Browns fan too. :(
