Greetings from a Clemson Fan.

If you are married and bringing your wife, bring lots of money or credit cards. She'll want to shop at one of the two largest malls in the country which is located here and 10 minutes from campus.

Thanks Matt. I just provided a brief overview of some things one can do while in the CNY area that time of year.

I urge Clemson fans to check out TexanMark's tailgating guide for Syracuse for detailed information on all things CNY. It is a great resource that is well worth your time to check out.

Look for a tailgating guide from Mark for Clemson some day. I don't want to speak out of turn or put pressure on him but I am pretty sure Mark will eventually do one for all ACC schools.
I am thinking of doing a reverse tailgating guide. Like I know a golf course you should not play if your in the Akron area. Couple of spots to skip in the French Quarter ( one place you wait in line for 45 minutes for cofee and a powdered sugar turnover of sorts ). Im sure I can give you some " dont dos" in Talahasee, Atlanta and the Raleigh Durham area.

LOL. So true. Your guide might be more valuable than the normal ones...

Let's provide a few more details...

Do not get beignets in New Orleans at Cafe Du Monde. Worst call ever.
Do not golf at Ridge Top? Golf Course in Medina. 2nd worst call ever. Thanks Akron football board for the recommendation.
Do not order wings at a Tilted Kilt restaurant. Just trust me on this one.

Post your don't do's for Tallahassee in the FSU thread please...thank you!! http://syracusefan.com/threads/florida-state-16-nov-2013-tailgate-ticket-planning.45659/

Don't send your bank account info to Most Honorable Person from Ghana to help him move money.

Do not eat at a Huddle House ever. It will make the Waffle House look like Wolfgang Puck's.
Do not drive through Georgia dressed as William Tecumseh Sherman.

I'm thinking someone should put together a Chip and Milly tailgate guide. Have a list of day spas, bistros, and bars for each school.

I forget which pillar of society (Jake?) missed some big Cuse event to attend a Lilith Fair concert. I'm sure someone can fill in all the details.

Gotta love the fact that Clemson fans are worried about snow in CNY in early October...

FIFY. Some of us have been out of the state once or twice in our life. Talked to the wife tonight about planning a trip for this game. I normally hit one away game every year. When the game is in Tally I always make that trip as my one away game but since we play in Clemson this year I think im gonna make Cuse my away trip. Any places to avoid when booking a place to stay? Also would it be cheaper to fly into Syracuse or somewhere close by and drive. Im gonna start checking flights tomorrow.

I'd check Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Rochester and Albany airports along with Syracuse...but it also depends on what else you want to see. All the airports I listed are approximately 75-150 mins away.
My tailgate/visitors guide can help www.texanmarktailgate.blogspot.com

And please tell our southern friend how to pronounce Skaneatles: "SkinnyAtlas". They even have a beer at Empire Brewing Company (Highly recommended!--great pre- or post-game stop) with the same name: Skinny Atlas Light.
Skaneateles ;)

Binghamton is also an option.

Been 4 years since i've been home, but typically I remember we usually get our first snow drops right around halloween.

It hasnt snowed more than a couple of inches the past 2 Novembers. Weather is certainly different than it was when I was growing up.

Hmmm...what is with the love fest with the tiger's fans? I'm not getting it...plus they wear the wrong color orange!

Anyway here is my warm and fuzzy - if your looking for something to do go deposit all your money at Turning Stone casinos about 40 mins away...

Good morning, just wanted to drop by and say that a lot of Clemson folks are excited about Syracuse coming into our conference and division of the ACC. We are looking forward to making the trip up there this year and see your campus, tailgate and enjoy a great game. I, for one, am hoping the weather is ok for travel that weekend. Down here, we shut down everything and buy out the break/milk/eggs if there's a threat of 1 inch of snow.

Anyways, we are looking forward to the trip, and are looking forward to hosting you guys down south next year!

Looking forward to playing a great football program.

I hope that Clemson and SU establish a long and fun rivalry!
