Greetings from Buffalo...

It's amazing how many UB students are from Central NY.

I've met more kids from Syracuse and L.I./The City, than Buffalo/Albany or Rochester.

I gotta recommend Gabriel's Gate for any of you visiting Buffalo.

The best wings by far I've had in Buff.

Your attempt to be cute failed...it's why I precursored it with a ha & left a smiley face after my remark. I like the pic though...

I'll let my likes do the talking :rolling:

There's things to do in Buffalo?

Not really. I went to Fredonia State and lets just say we never traveled to the city because there was more to do in Fredonia than there was in Buffalo.

Its a pro sports town plain and simple. I was there when the Bills were losing Super Bowls faster than I can drink PBR and it was Bills-Sabres 24/7/365.

All the employees at the team hotel are wearing "zebra" shirts. That is literally the only indication (subtle, for sure) I've seen suggesting there is a basketball tourney in town. There were none of the usual "welcome" signs at the hotel or the airport. When I asked my cab driver whether there was much excitement in town about the basketball tournament, he replied: "What basketball tournament? I don't know about any basketball tournament."

I've been attending NCAA games for more than 25 years...in cities ranging from Worcester to NYC. Never have I seen such an apparent lack of interest.
Buffalo is essentially Canada. The town should be exiled and given to someone else. And we should pay them.

I remember a lot of students at UB into SU (two of my floor-mates were from Cazenovia) as you say. Lots of kids from Rochester and Syracuse end up that way.

at least 10 of my good JD friends went to UB. I was actually 1 of the few at Cuse.

I'm very borderline JD though. Long story.

I went to school with a JD kid. When were you there?

I would have graduated from JD in 2003.

I moved to Atlanta before high school but visited Cuse every Christmas and for at least a month each summer so I still basically consider JD my high school (and was invited to the 10 year reunion)

The best thing to do in Buffalo is to go to Niagara Falls.

There used to be quite a few fun bars when I was out that way. Probably why I only lasted a year and a half...

Seriously though, Monday Night Football was the best out there. To be in the bars while Bruce Smith and Thurman Thomas were there was very cool. And the $6 buckets of 6 full-sized Molson's helped as well.

Ah this would have been back in the late 80's.

I love UB, always something to do.

Maybe things were different when you guys experienced Buffalo. Then again all I need for entertainment is greasy food, screamers and slightly above average looking women.

I dated a girl from Cheektovegas. I think the extent of things to do was that mall by there and Casino Niagara.

Anybody needing recommendations on eating and drinking in la Buff hit me up.
