Griffins block

I cant believe Marek on that play. What are you doing driving to the hoop with 10 seconds left on the clock. Hold for the last shot 10000% of the time. I cant believe thats what came out of that timeout we took too. It should have been a pick n roll with marek and kadary

We should never clear out for Marek with the game on the line again. He’s not that kind of player. That was brutal. But honestly...has he ever been in that situation?

Kadary was feeling it a bit and is our best guy off the dribble, handle wise. I wanted him to go and create...if a good look is there take it, if the D collapses on him, he’s good at both finding an open shooter, and bounce passing it to a cutter or someone under the hoop.

did this block give us the same gasp as Rak’s on Rodney Hood?

Totally agree. That could not have been the play that JB drew up in the timeout, i refuse to believe that. I think marek just improvised and boy is he lucky griffin bailed him out with that block. I am still utterly bamboozled that he tried to drive with that much time left on the clock.

Well said. It’s typically good to have the offense run through Marek during the normal flow of the game. But it’s a completely different scenario when it’s the final possession with just 10 seconds left in a tie game... it’s a bad idea.

Most likable Cuse team in nearly a decade
I can not disagree but I honestly felt the first 25 minutes it was like we were playing Russian roulette with 5 loaded chambers! We need to take control of these games much earlier and stop making everyone a nail biter!

I believe it was the play called.

I think this program wants too much of Marek sometimes. He’s never putting the weight on, he’s not a 5, and he’s not the guy who should have the ball in his hands that far from the hoop with 10 seconds to go. Marek does so many good things, I wish they’d just let him do that.

Better we learn now. Good comeback vs a physical team.

I would imagine that any intent on that last play would be for Marek to win his matchup off the dribble, draw the defender and dish.

But unless I’m in that huddle, I’ve got no idea.

Could turn his whole season around. Should give him tons of confidence

Did anyone notice that Griffin’s energy completely changed in the second half when Buffalo started woofing (the first instance I noticed was after a blocked shot on a Guerrier attempt). It was like a fire was ignited inside of AG. He was jawing the rest of the game, but played with swagger and passion. Hope he can bottle that up consistently going forward.

Buffal must have been chirpin big time most of the game. Kadary was going back and forth for awhile with one of the buffalo guards too in the 2nd half when they were still up by like 10. Lot of smack talk going on out there tonight.

Yes i saw that too. Its nice to see the guys play with an edge and with fire. It is something we havent seen all year IMO and what I've been waiting for. We need to take that edge and play with it going forward for the rest of the way. I want to see us jump down teams throats an than step on them like BC.

I loved AGs attitude at the free throw line late. Also the shots of him in the huddle late and in Ot. He wants to win and shows so much damn emotion. Love it. He’s the anti Frank Howard.

That whole play reminded me of Burgan falling down trying to beat St John’s and having to pass the ball to Blackwell who buried the game winner.
Had to listen to SJU fans claim it was a travel all weekend.

Was the sport of basketballs greatest block since Lebron in the 2016 Finals and I will give the stink eye to anyone that disagrees.

You don't like this one by Bam of the Heat against Jason Tatum? He got his hand in between the slam down and the rim, then secured the ball. I say that one takes the cake.

OOOOH... when you said LBJ .. I thought you meant Lyndon Baines Johnson, and I couldn't figure out what you meant. Seriously

And this is why you are one of a kind, Joyce!

was it me or did marek get mugged in a no call that lead to that last second block

I thought so too .. then I watched the replay frame by frame and all the guy did was put his hand on the ball while Marek had it in his hand which is all it took to cause him to hurtle to the ground like he was being slammed by The Honkey Talk Man
