Oh brother, that was hard to watch.
If we finished around the basket last night like we did tonight, we would have won.
Offense was not pretty. Especially in the first half. Guys think they have to throw a shot up immediately when they touch it. Even when highly contested.
The team slept walk through the first half.
Did you see Gonzaga’s passing? How many times did a guy make the extra pass to get a wide open shot rather than a good shot?
Taylor does some other things, but he is not the shooter people projected coming in.
Bell resorted back to the player that I’m not a fan of. All about himself, pouts when he’s having a bad night, and stands and watches instead of playing basketball.
Chemistry on this team is not good.
Benny is not that good to get this many chances. Just move on already.
Interior defense is beyond awful. Remember in the offseason when some well respected posters said Syracuse would be better off without Edwards? And he wasn’t a big loss? It was crazy then, and even crazier now.
7 footer and 2 6’11” players on the team, and none of them can play a lick of basketball.
Cuffe may have had one of the worst 4 trips down the floor I have ever seen. Runs the wrong way, little communication issue with Mintz and turnover. Come down the floor and gets beat on a back door cut, comes down and drives into the lane leaves his feet and passes it right to Gonzaga, come back down on defense and commit a foul.
I would rather see Copeland get more minutes. Hes not perfect and he makes some bad decisions. But I never question his competitiveness, he’s always working, always trying to make a play. He’s the only one on this team that competes every second he is on the floor. Also, appears to be a great teammate and always trying to get others going.
All around, a terrible performance for 30 of the 40 minutes. Lot of this goes on Jim for roster construction, but we hit the portal and brought in more guys that were supposed to bolster the lineup. We’re not meshing right now and we have 5 individuals out there playing basketball. We are not playing as a team. Red has a lot of work to do. But im not sure I have seen a whole lot of improvement from any of the returning players or from the new guys coming in which is really concerning.
At the end of the day, based on Wins & Loses, we have won the games we were expected to win and lost the games we were expected to lose. Don’t let these past two games impact this game tomorrow. Need to take care of business tomorrow and go home 4-2.
