Would be awesome if we had the vision to go with a throwback. Imagine having this image of Donnie Mac from a 1987 vintage uniform.

Concur. Would love to see us go throwback once a year.

Is Flutie going to play? They could definitely use him.

Mahoney reminds me a bit of Flutie. Hope he channels some Flutie magic the next two weeks!

Every game.

I don't think we ever lose the block S from the helmet. I don't know that our classic look speaks to anyone but the over 35+ crowd - and the new all orange and normal home (orange/blue/orange) is growing on me.

But whatever we do is like to lose the all blues.

how does a classic helmet with no decals speak to one group or the other? Does BC have an ID problme w their non decaled helmet?

My suspicion is if we go w a new HC, the new direction will enable us to re-do the uniform and get it right once and for all. At least that's what i'm hoping.

This my all-time favorite SU uniform:

The helmets looked like this:

Who's that wimpy guy on the lower left hand side? ;)

Csonka was a big dude. Looks like a linebacker.

Go back to Coach Mac look.

Pretty simple for me.

He was at first. Then Ben and the staff realized what a good fullback he could make.

I prefer the all orange no decal look. I just think the branding has been successful on the helmet (remember we didn't have a good logo for a loooong time - I'm really glad they didn't put that awful dome one on).

Ya. I know. We've talked that through before. I don't have the energy this time.

I liked the Nassib era fine. And I'd like the current look with more traditional numbers. I wouldn't mind the coach Mac look - but it would have to be updated a bit to not look dated. Penn St does this.

If anything Penn State has become even more traditional - since O'Brien.

Alabama looks like Alabama when Joe Namath played - simple, classic a true brand that is immediately identifiable. The same is true for USC, Auburn and Texas.

As you know, that's what I want - I want to turn on the TV and immediately see a uniform brand that recalls McNabb, McPherson, Philcox, Johnston, Ismail and the rest. That was and should remain SU Football - the brand of success.

There is nothing identifiable about our present uniforms. They look like nearly every Big 12 and MAC school - at least some version of the uniforms worn by those schools. I think some versions are actually interesting looking - the all orange look is interesting.

But it's not our traditional brand.

You have either A) never seen black and white pics of our old uniforms, or B) never seen a new grey uniforms.
[Btw, there isn't a joke font, but if there was, I would have used it.]
