Guys who have to come through

So you have SU at 1-4 and disregard the should have won vs NW? A glass always empty type thinking.

Huh? There are no should-have-wons. I don't remember seeing that column next to W-L. You are what your record says you are. And it's premature to say what you are at 2-3.

You just wrote Pitt should have won so how can there be no should have wons then? Which is it? If a team should have lost then logic would say that the other team involved should have won. You just can't have it both ways...that's called being a rutgers fan. ;)

Nassib. He still hasn't realize that he's throwing bullet passes and he's got very little awareness of his own strength (look at the hail mary pass before the end of the first half vs Pitt). As much as I value his experience, I'm afraid that he has reached a peak of his talent and has been there for some time now.

What worries me is that he knows ru is pretty quick back there and may over compensate with throwing the ball a little harder so they don't pop in front. It's time for our receivers who catch his passes daily to step up and catch those hard passes...not saying it's easy but your playing a top 20 team and to beat those types of teams you have to make the plays.

if you keep turning corners, you're most likely just going in a circle.

1. Fisher - this thing lines up as a punt fest. No blocks, no shanks, no straight down the middle. Directional 40 yds are the order of the day.

2. Krautman and the place kicking unit. - They execute a freaking PAT properly last year and it's 3-0, never gets to OT.

3. Nassib - game manager mode - take what's there, which doesn't necessarially mean tucking it and getting a yard. Dink and dunk, get the ball out, and take a couple of shots. And if there is a screen pass call coming in, ignor it.

4. Trudo, Mackey, and Chibane - minimize the interior pressure and let a true pocket form. Rutgers isn't pressuring as much as in the past.

5. Defense - somebody, anybody, make a big play. A short field or two can make all the difference.

Also A-Rod... but that's another story.

1 for 9 with 5 Ks

I think they the bed at the end more than we took the win, although our last drive killing 5 minutes was the prettiest piece of ugly football, ever. Currently we are both losing teams and they know how to lose more than we know how to win. Doesn't mean I think they should have won.

Marrone has to come through. He needs to manage the game to win and make in game decisions that puts the team in a position to win. Do not play not to lose.

Need Ryan to show patience. He's going to be facing pressure all game. He needs to stand in the pocket and not rush into thinking he's going to get hit.

we lost the game last year because of a blocked kick. without it rutgers never moves into scoring position.

I am not sure the rushing game hasnt improved more than we think, its more the lack of rushes holding it back. we run for decent yards per carry when you consider we dont break 50 yard runs to skew the averages. Its not like we run for 2,2,2,50,2,2,2,30 and average 9 yards a carry we go 4,5,2,6,15,1,7,3 we have moved the chains running , the "runs" killing us have been Nassib scrambles for zero yards and WR pass/rush plays for negative yards.

we should have run more verse Minn and Pitt , people want to see more wide open but throwing 3 incomplete passes is worse than 3 runs for 3 yards.
