Hang on loosely

Here's who were losing as seniors and RSr's:

Mckinley Williams DL
Chris Elmore FB
Kingsley Jonathan DL
Cody Roscoe DL
Devaughn Cooper WR
Abdul Adams RB
Erik Slater LB
Airon Servais OL
Josh Black DL
Colby Barker

Three are DL. We are a very young team. The above 10 are out of 103 total players listed on the roster and they didn't take Harris' name down so 102. A lot of freshman on our team.
Colby Barker probably not going out on a high note.

Both have been out of HS 3 years ?

Yes. Both have been out for three years are should be draft eligible.

Before the season I thought both would be requesting an evaluation form the NFL. Now, I'm not so sure about G. Will. He's been banged up (what's his status this week?). But it's good idea to get that evaluation before making any decision to leave school.

Jones is a soph so not 3 years for him

Mikel is a “Covid” Soph = 3rd year out of HS.
He enrolled in Jan ‘19.

He is eligible to declare for the Draft, as is Garrett Williams.

It seems unlikely that either will, but those days. what does anybody know??

Jones is a classic tweener at the LB position, love the kid and hope he stays one more year if he is actually eligible for the draft

Jones’ 6-1 220 size seems very generous. He’s a phenomenal college player but is he a pro LB when he’s more likely on the smaller side?

Seems like longer...sigh
Yep the difference is we will have a proven QB to start the season. A big difference to me. That last happened in 18 and that year went all right.

How are we loaded next year? Another year in the system? Another year of getting "faster and stronger"? Don't we say and hear those things every year?

I hope you're right. I'm getting too old to see my hopes come crashing down almost every year.

Let's hope we gain more than we lose through the portal.

Didn't realize when I posted him as a soph that it was a "Covid" deal - so it is three years, oh well. Still think he needs one more year.

Tucker back, Shrader back, a lot of promising defensive players back, and frankly the WR spot can only go up from here. They haven’t been productive but at least we’re young there.

*Frustrating that for once we’re pretty good in the trenches on both sides of the ball this year, and we still aren’t winning.

Most of the top 10 or so Oline back

Are we ok with being good once every 4 years?

If we were decent/competitive the other 3(frankly, like this year), then yes.

If we’re going 1-10 or 4-8 with 4 blowout losses or something in the other years...not really.

I could even deal with the 1 good, 1 bad, 2 decent seasons situation in every given 4 year block.

I

Are you sure it can go up? What if we have another "top" WR jump into the portal?
