Hang on loosely

Huh? Mikel Jones. A) I don’t think he is old enough. B) Who will draft him? For his own good, let’s hope he does not declare.
Mikel Jones was born in 2000 that makes him 21 He's listed on the roster at cuse.com as 6'1" 220. I think that's a program ht and weight.

The 7 top LB's in the NFL this year average 233 lbs and are between 6' and 6' 3" with lots of muscle.

He isn't ready yet IMHO. but he;s not far off if that is his real ht and wgt.

Most impactful thing Dino could do would be to hire a clock management coach.

Shrader and Tucker in the backfield. Hough the big back redshirting and waiting in the wings.
OL: Bergeron, D. Davis, Bleich, Illoa, Ellis, and a big battle at RT.
LB's and DB's have pretty much everyone coming back.
Biggest issue will be DE. I like DT with Lockett, Harper, and Darton.

Here's who were losing as seniors and RSr's:

Mckinley Williams DL
Chris Elmore FB
Kingsley Jonathan DL
Cody Roscoe DL
Devaughn Cooper WR
Abdul Adams RB
Erik Slater LB
Airon Servais OL
Josh Black DL
Colby Barker

Three are DL. We are a very young team. The above 10 are out of 103 total players listed on the roster and they didn't take Harris' name down so 102. A lot of freshman on our team.

Cooper, believe it or not, has another year. I’d do the breakdown of his eligibility but it takes a doctorate in math to understand… which ironically, is what Cooper will have when he’s done with his collegiate career.

He’s not going anywhere.

How are we loaded next year? Another year in the system? Another year of getting "faster and stronger"? Don't we say and hear those things every year?

Yes, we’re the only team that’s going to improve and the rest of the ACC is going to go backwards.

clemson's recruiting classes for 2021/22 are both top 15. (top 5 2021). they ain't going away soon.

He allegedly already has one according to what he said in the press conference today, though when pressed he wouldn’t give the name of who it is.

Who'd have thought our biggest loss would be Roscoe?

I realize that. I’m pointing out the weird idea since Shafer that we’ll definitively improve the following year but everyone else is going to just be stagnant and wait for us to catch up.

Are we ok with being good once every 4 years?
Nope.

Need to be bowling at least 80% of the time. That's 8 bowl games every decade, with at least one 10+ win season and at least two other 8+ win seasons. There'll be some good stretches with an ACC championship appearance and some top-25 rankings. Heading back to the late MacPherson and early Coach P years.

This is what Im not ready to give up striving for

I think Dino has the locker room locked in still this year. There are some rumblings about "losing the locker room" but I think this team still believes.

We need to get a couple more wins to get the team as a whole to buy in for next year and the future.
The "losing the locker room" concept usually originates from people on this board who are speculating.
If you go by the board, every SU coach loses the locker room at least once every season. Usually it happens right before they go on a little win streak.

I will gladly hit Dino on his awful game management but there is absolutely no way the way the team is playing that he has lost the room.

I just want us to be one of the top teams in our conference year in and year out. That would make us bowling consistently and ranked every now and then. Honestly I’m not hoping for a CFP, I just want the ACC title and Orange Bowl.

Now I have this song in my head..
That’s too bad…

I saw them open for Eric Clapton at SPAC in the 80’s. Never a fan but yes that song is about being too clingy. As Johnny Suede once said “you hold a bird tightest with an open hand” haha

SPAC, nice. I live 20 minutes south of Saratoga. Pass by it every night on my way to work. Use to go to Steve Miller Band concerts there every summer.
