Happy Anniversary!

I lost my magic orange towel we got free at one of the games (maybe vs Uconn 2-3 years prior) that I carried for every game like DeNiros character in silver lining playbooks...no idea where it went, gone into the that night somewhere at Maggie’s after the game.

some say it never actually existed

I wish some footage would emerge of the championship celebration at the Dome. There were 25,000 people there - I find it hard to believe that there’s not a recording out there that can be put on YouTube?

Was that where Melo said "One more year? I though you were supposed to stay in school 4 years?"

And he was gone a week later.

I was a senior in HS. I always get choked up watching highlights of the championship game... it brings me back to that wind-down of HS and watching that run with my friends. Simpler times lol.

That was a blast though. Craig came out and said he picked a good time to have a good game lol.

I have so many pics from the nights at the dome, Marshall Street and then the madness after the win all over campus. Nothing digital though.

Such an awesome time, my first year out of college in Arlington, VA. I watched every game except for the championship at Crystal City Sports Pub. I probably woke up my entire 10 story building from my 1st floor apartment when the buzzer sounded and we won the 'ship.

I wanted to go to New Orleans but was still a poor kid with minimal vacation time in my first year of my new job. Promised myself I'd make it to the Final Four anytime they made it again. Went to Atlanta and Houston and hopefully, more to come!

Same age, with the same waking up the ap't complex story in Philly. I hadn't even started my lousy temp job yet, total bumb.
Some 'Nova fan left a nice congratulatory note under our door. Still one of the coolest random things any stranger has done that I can remember (I can't decide if that sounds sad, ha).

I was dying to get to New Orleans for the Final 4, but my normal SU crew couldn't or wouldn't go. Had a blind date on the Tuesday before the Final 4, which was mostly forgettable, but when I told the woman that I wanted to go but my friends couldn't, she insisted that I find a way to get there. Thanks to her insistence, I started scouting around and connected with some other SU peeps that I hadn't seen since graduation in 1993. They graciously allowed me to jump in with them, and by Friday, I was on a plane to Jackson, MS because all of the flights from NYC to NoLa were sold out. Hitched a ride with random SU people from Jackson to NoLa, and the party was on!

So thank you Kim whatever-your-name-was. Without you, I never would have made it to New Orleans for our victory!

I live in the middle of ACC Country but my ACC co-workers were happy for me and they decorated my desk area in orange and 'Cuse stuff.

Most of the stuff was still up at my desk until a few years ago when hurricane Florence flooded our building and they had to gut the place.

Syracuse.com used to have an old time lapse webcam on Marshall street and you could go back and pick dates and time and see images. I was at Tail Gators downtown (made an appearance on CBS news). The next morning I looked up pics from that webcam and it shows people piling out on to Marshall Street right after the game - for about 20 minutes and then right back inside because it was pretty cold and nasty out.

I was in my LeMoyne apartment for every game Auburn through Kansas. I wore the same clothes, sat in the same chair, drank the same beer from the same glass and no one who wasn't there for each game was allowed in.

There was an awesome epsiode talking about that game on the Titus and Tate podcast.

From Cuse, but had just moved to Boston with my very pregnant wife. Had two college buddies over (one from Oswego, the other from LI would did his grad school at SU). I sat with a plate of empty wings in my hand from the moment Gerry hit is third 3 and refused to put them down for the rest of the game. I'm talking bathroom breaks and everything. Me and my buddy from the great white north shed a tear or two after the game (I blame the beer and a 25 year history of close, but not close enough). My wife, understanding as she could be, simply said "you better be crying those same tears when our child is born." Unforgettable.

Carrier Dome to watch the final, same people & same seats as the Final Four game watch... amazing.

Marshall St., the Sheraton, etc. afterwards. I’m 6’4 & had a buddy on my shoulders as he waved his t-shirt over his head afterwards (was told by a number of classmates the next day I had made it in on some news coverage footage doing that, haha)... pandemonium.

My favorite part was as we left the dome getting ready to head to Marshall was that someone had a couch on wheels riding down Van Buren and a couple vans with guys from local neighborhoods pulled over and hopped out and we had like 15 ppl students and local celebrating by riding down an old couch. Totally random but will never forget.

There are 14 (15 now) posts in this thread. About the greatest day in Syracuse Basketball history.

There are 242 posts in a thread about Woody Newton entering the transfer portal. A player that barely played for us and has already been replaced.

This Board has changed...

I miss the old days.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
Too many darn kids on your lawn?? :)

Walking down Irving in the blizzard from my friend's house on Raynor on our way to Marshall St. and just high fiving people in their cars that we passed. Everyone was just so happy.

Personal pics I found.
