Good god is the man slippery. For such a supposedly thin kid, he is incredibly hard to tackle. His attitude and maturity has been questioned, but you can tell when he has the ball this is a kid with heart who will not go down.

Dropped perfectly thrown deep balls and was pushed out of bounds on every go route.

Felt like he got 20 targets today. Wish we could use him differently because he was great with the ball after the catch. Didn’t make any of the contested ones tho.

I want to see him get the old bubble screens. He can make something happen there

Two years ago he had a solid year, as did Nykeim and Riley. Very solid years.

Since then it has become fashionable for some posters to say these guys aren’t very good.

Let me be blunt; there is no excuse for dropped passes. Sure they happen but a receiver gets a free ride through college to make those catches. No excuse.

Still, those guys who were good two years ago didn’t suddenly become crappy players last year and this year. There is more going on there.

Yeah I would not mind seeing our two frosh Wrs getting some in game snaps. Alford and Williams have great size. Hell even if it's situational and they are in to run jets and slants. If this is in essence an extra year, it would make sense to get them snaps . They already have the size.

They were much better 2 years ago because we had an awesome dual threat qb in Dungey an excellent offensive line a solid running game and some veteran receivers on the field with them and no signiicant injuries now we are the total opposite.

I really liked him in the slot. It seemed to work well. On the outside, it seems like it's not very difficult to force him out of bounds on sideline routes, which we run a lot.

Not sure where Hendrix is in his development, but if you could use Nykeim/Taj in the slot, Queeley/Hendrix outside, are there more options?

Of course, that would require the middle of the OL to hold up (I think the tackles are fine), the RB to effectively support the run, and the QB to be able scan the whole field for more than his primary option.

Some guys are more effective in complimentary roles than they are being the primary guy and getting more attention from the D. Not sure this is the case with Harris, but we've seen it happen in the past.

I don’t care how slippery he is if he can’t get open and catch the ball. He still keeps looking at the QB and shaking his head whenever something goes wrong.

Like when Tommy tried to get him the ball in space and he didn’t even look and then he had a look on his face. Or when he broke his route but tommy threw it deep to where he would have been

Move Harris inside to the Slot. Play Q and one of the physical young guns outside. Hendrix would be my choice.

We absolutely have to do this.

Taj is a good player but he is a terrible fit for the every down role he was used in yesterday of 15-20 targets per game.

Because you know hes going to drop some wide open deep balls, hes not going to catch anything if the DB is close to him even if its well thrown, and hes going to get pushed out of bounds a lot. Other than that hes pretty good and can get you some RAC.

good call on the first note. He was lined up in the slot with safety coverage. The safety was 15 yards off him. TD reads it perfectly and throws a quick slant to Taj and Taj is not even looking. Then Taj has ‘the look’ like it’s TDs fault. No Taj it was your fault you didn’t read the play correctly. That would’ve been a big gain to. (even the Carolina announcer called it)

this is where someone like Ishmael would’ve read it and tapped his head or Dungey would’ve made that eye contact.

I said To myself when I saw that play that they weren’t on the same page. It showed itself thoughout the course of the whole game after that imo

I've been wondering the same thing. Taj isn't a burner like Tyreek Hill who can play outside despite his size because he will just outrun everyone. Taj has the skills but not going to run past the defense. He looks better across the middle. So slot makes sense.

I wonder if they can try to swap Harris and maybe Nykeim Johnson. Just to see what happens for a drive or two.

Exactly. Get him the ball quickly in space and hes got 5 yards. Taj is never going to out muscle/win 50-50 balls. He is a better Riley.

NJ is definitely looking healthy this year for the first time since he was a freshman. He was definitely showing that quick twitch speed again. That is promising.

That's what I'm saying. If DeVito wants to take that deep sideline shot I think Nykeim is a better beat to beat his man deep.

Great when ball is in his hands. His route running and game instincts are not there. As others have said, every go route he loses his placement and essentially runs himself out of bounds. Secondly, whenever an adjustment needs to be made, safety 12 yards off of him, devito try’s to get the ball in his hands fast he doesn’t acknowledge and runs the route instead of checking to his secondary route. You take what the defense gives you and Harris does not do that. His game instincts, knowing the situation and checking down or running his secondary route is lacking
