Grant him a waiver for another year!

Hopefully his experience at Wake will set him up well for life, even if he can't play football.

Pretty vague stuff. Anyone know if this is for the whole season? Or, like, will he be back on, say, November 19th?

Prayers for Sam to have a full recovery from whatever is wrong with him.

He has been so good against us for so long that he has to rank as one of the best players I have seen play against Syracuse. I bet he is right there among the best ever in terms of throwing yards, TDs and he has done well running it too.

It has been frustrating as hell watching us try and stop him and fail over and over. He truly has been a great college player and I hope he is able to return to finish his career on the field.

This is going to shake things up big time for the final year of the Atlantic Division for football.

First and foremost, I hope the young man will be OK and that he can continue to do whatever it is he wants to do at some point. You never wanna see a young person have to go through something like this regardless of the competition factor.

Damn they were starting the season ranked too. I hope he's ok but I also hope we don't have to face him, because dude makes that system go.

Non-medical + treatment = something pretty scary IMO. Hopefully, getting the help he needs is paramount

Edit: As noted after I posted this - it's medical, but not football related. Doesn't appear to be mental health (arm in sling).

Hope it's nothing too serious. Kid was headed for a hell of a career.

He has been very open about his battle with mental illness. I would assume that is what he is facing here. All the best to him and his family

Have to respect Sam and the Wake program. They do it the right way. He’s easy to root for. I had a good feeling about him when I watched him on that QB1 show. I hope he can come back and have a long NFL career.

Doesn’t sound like that. Hartman Out Indefinitely For Non-Football Related Medical Condition - Wake Forest University Athletics

Statement from Wake Forest Athletics:
  • "Following a workout on Tuesday, Aug. 9, redshirt junior quarterback Sam Hartman sought medical attention for a non-football related condition. The results of those tests and subsequent treatment will remove Sam from team activities indefinitely. The timeline for his return to competition is uncertain. In respect for Sam's privacy and in compliance with HIPAA, no additional details will be shared at this time. Wake Forest Athletics medical and athletics training staff are providing Sam and his family with constant support. More updates will be shared when appropriate.

The offense is built around him, they are in trouble

Being healthy Mentally and Physically is the most important thing. Whatever he ends up doing may he end up happy and fulfilled.

Weird that mental health is being thrown about here. WF forum mentions he's at practices, with his left arm in a cast. They also state that Jamie Newman is applying for reinstatement to WF, but Uga may try to block it.
