I love how he uses ED's Heisman as a background prop...as if it was won under his watch.

I think he should use his FB timeline for daily photos... a photo of each daily baloney sammich...

No, I get WHY it was used. I just think its a bit disingenuine to use it. Why not pull out the 1959 natl championship trophy as well?

Would you get mad if Autry had a video with the 2003 trophy? Talk about nitpicking.

Hell if would help recruiting he should grab the 2003 Championship Trophy and put it on his desk.

Speaking of that, doesn't it seem like the hoop alumni do a better job representing the school than their football brethren.

Isn't he representing SU? he loves the Orangemen. He'd suit up for us 9-1

I heard he got a twitter account so that he could monitor SU fans contacting recruits.

It'll take about a week before all the stupid comments on his facebook page start to annoy him and he deletes the profile. I'm pissed he has orange anywhere on his page, what the hell does he think that he's the one that picked the color for the team. What a selfish jerk.

What the is wrong with you?

What the **** is wrong with you?

I guess I'm the only one who thinks it looks a bit desperate. I'm just saying...you think a recruit can't see through stuff like that?

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter all that much. Just an observation.

Well its a pretty shitty observation.

What is your time frame for things that matter??

Clearly history and tradition don't mean shlit.

Sweet Lord, so the coach of Syracuse is not allowed to use images pertaining to the great history of Syracuse?

I hate our fans sometimes, I really do.

I agree with the first part but I don't actually think history and tradition mean all that much to recruits.

So I guess that a linebacker being recruited by UCONN and PSU (pre-pedophilia) doesn't consider the tradition of PSU producing outstanding players at that position when making his decision?

Listen, there is no answer to this debate. Or maybe the answer is everything matters. I don't know. I don't see a problem in touting your tradition, I just get the sense that most 17-year-olds are far more interested in getting to the NFL, hanging with cute co-eds, not being required to do too much in class, playing in front of huge crowds and on TV (which is most everywhere, I guess), etc. Because, you know, they're 17.

No, not all kids think this way and yes, the Cuse should be very proud of it's tradition and there is no reason not to show off the Heisman in a twitter or fb profile pic. I just don't think it extends to someone choosing a school largely due to it's accomplishments in the previous four or five decades. It has to help in some way but I think most of us here overrate it b/c we were, in some small way, a part of many of those teams. The McNabb era means something to us b/c we were at those games. A 17-year-old kid may only know mcnabb as an aging qb who's probably been available in the free agent pool of his fantasy league for the last three years.

But then you see how much every other fanbase despises us and that makes you smile.

I'm hoping the next update on his wall discusses his contract extension.
