Girard's form extends out to 28 feet. If that longer shot is open, it's not a terrible shot. That doesn't necessarily mean he should take it early in the clock because we might be able to get a layup.The thing with Joe is that he takes those 30-footers so nonchalantly, when they go in, it looks effortless...when they miss it looks like he is just chucking and wasting a possession.
But as JB said in the presser, when things are rolling and you are in a rhythm as a shooter, those long range shots aren't bad shots. When the team and the player are struggling to score, they are not good shots.
So the game situation really dictates if he wants him taking those shots. Same with Griffin.
Trevor Cooney's form only held up six inches behind the three point line. Once he's farther back, he's throwing the ball and not shooting it. Cooney at the line was a good shot, Cooney a foot more more back was always a bad shot.
