held WF to less than 3 yards a play. That only happened 14 times last year

SU offense 4.63 yards per play. Teams did worse than that 8% of the time last year. SU's offense inflated WF's total yardage by giving them so many possessions. The last time i saw teams trade punts like that was that crazy cfl game where they kept punting back and forth to and from the endzone.

SU defense 2.96 yards per play. Teams did better than that less than 1% of the time last year.

That is quite a rebound from one game to the next, I don't care who it's against. Offense is still pretty terrible.

We can't expect that kind of performance the rest of the way if they want to win 2. SU's defense has been so volatile. Clemson and being totally unprepared for GT will do that to you.

Hard to predict the next few non NFL opponent games. Maybe the defense can whiteknuckle us to a bowl ala 2010

That's all I'm really hoping for, the defense to white knuckle us to a bowl.

1 big special teams play in our favor every game wouldn't hurt either

we got to get to 50/50 on the pick 6 plays.. i think we are at about 5% the last 10 years on those. cost us the PSU game and probably 2-3 other gams the last 5 years.. some teams have 4-5 this year.

Our DBs must have the worst hands in America. It's maddening to have a drop-6 just about every other game. Thankfully, it didn't hurt us on Saturday, but it clearly has in the past - Cincy last year, Rutgers in '11 that cost us a bowl game, etc.
