Here it is ... 2012 Schedules

2012Helmets1.jpg

I like this schedule to be honest (except finishing @temple). I know they only get one bye, but I think that Mizzou gamed filled our other one. From @USF to @Mizzou will be extremely tough.

As expected, 5 home games and 1 of them is an FCS. Northwestern, Pitt, UConn and Lville. Sweet.

4 games slated for ESPN / ESPN2 / ABC

Syracuse football will be featured on national television at least four times in 2012, including ‘New York’s College Classic’ against Southern California on September 8 (ABC /ESPN or ESPN2). In addition, the Orange will host Pittsburgh on Friday, October 5 and Connecticut on Friday, October 19 before an ESPN audience, and will play at Temple in the regular season finale on November 23 in a game that will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2.

I like the fact that we finish at Temple. That is Thanksgiving weekend and we might get some kids in from the PA/NJ/MD area to watch SU play.

I can't wait to go to the ACC and not have conference schedules full of blech like that.

Contrast that to 1 for Rutgers, also known as America's Team.

It isn't backloaded like last year. That is good. I like the Friday night games, I like all the games on TV, I like that there are no Wednesday or Thursday games. Wish we played USF sometime in November, would have been ideal for a golf road trip and they tend to play poorly late in the season.

Looks like they boned Temple with the 2nd only one bye during the season slot. One would think UConn would have gotten it...Temple will be a lot better than the Huskies. I guess the newbies have to earn any respect they get.

I think it is our most unattractive home schedule since 1906. I will keep my tickets but it is going to be a brutal year for attendance with the recent struggles on the field and in the AD office.

Interesting to see which teams have generated TV coverage (4 & 5 games) and which have not (only 1 or 2)

I like the Friday night games.

While the occasional Friday night game is nice (when there are 6-7 home games), having 2 of them when we only have 4 D1 home games seems to have really boned the out of towners. It also makes for worse tailgating for locals.

One more year and then the likes of Maryland, BC, Va Tech, Florida State, UVA, Ga Tech, Clemson and the rest.

I like the Friday night games and the Temple game in Philly - for my travel purposes.

You Fine Tailgaters always seem to make the best of it on Friday nights.

I don't follow the fball board, schedules and the back-n-forth and closely as bball and others...but I swear EVERY YEAR I see Rutgersfan say how tough their schedule will eventually be.

Ok...at Arkansas...and...and????

We do but with fewer people and others who are there for a quick stop by.

That Thanksgiving Friday at Temple is the best part of the schedule.

Fri night games suck for those who travel during the week.

Me too.

This is an example of what it could have been:

Northwestern
Southern California
@ Minnesota
Pittsburgh
@ Wake Forest
Clemson
@ Florida State
N.C. State
Georgia Tech
@ North Carolina
Maryland
@ Boston College

(playing each team in the Atlantic Division once, Pitt as a crossover, and two random teams picked from the Coastal, dropped Stony Brook and Missouri since 9-game ACC conference schedule, 5 home conference games, giving us 7 home games)

Bingo, one Friday game would have been fine but two is excessive when we have only four real home games, the BE really stuck it to us on the schedule.

either homecoming or parents weekend is getting stuck on a friday and the other is louisville.

this is really a shitty schedule.

That Thanksgiving Friday at Temple is the best part of the schedule.

Yep, especially when your parents live in Philly, so I am loving this as well ! (although for me the "best part" would obviously have to be USC). And good thing I have these two to look forward to because as you mentioned in another post, the Dome schedule really blows for out-of-towners.
