High viewership for Syracuse-Notre Dame game

The Notre Dame-Syracuse game Saturday was the most-watched event on any ESPN channel last week, according to a school press release. The game earned a 1.7 overnight rating, according to sportsbusinessdaily.com.

80% of that comes from the whole state of Kentucky tuning in to root against us.

1.7 SU/ND ESPN
1.6 FSU/Duke ESPN
1.5 ALA/KY CBS

I wonder how much of it was in NYC. Certainly with Rutgers playing on the same weekend and likely getting 50.3 draw in the 5 boroughs, we couldn't expect the denizens of Gotham to turn in for another game.
