It is quite funny, imo, because this is EXACTLY how I picture JB. How he even managed to talk to Juli that first night is beyond me. Waters should investigate that! That is something I really want an answer to.

I totally believe that JB hasn't been in his assistant's rooms. Throughout a career of business travel I have rarely been in a colleague's room, and never a direct report's room.

JB does read. I sat next to him on flight from Philly to Syracuse some years ago. He was very friendly and initiated conversation right until the point that the plane got in the air. After that, his nose was buried in a book for the rest of the flight.

Yes. Juli got up to use the restroom and when she came back, her spot was gone. JB cleared out a spot for her to sit and the rest is history.

Sure. After you check into your room, you make plans to meet down in the bar in 30 minutes. Gives you time to take care of any personal hygiene issues and a quick call to the wife. We've all been there.

Bud Poliquin said pretty much the same thing the morning after the news broke.
Based on the many times he's been on the road with the team he said that JB is not really social on trips, he's in his room reading and if he wants to talk to the assistants they come to his room.
