8 teams is too much but years where its close there should be a playin game between 4 and 5.

Eh I’d like to see 8 teams. That way a fringe team like a UCF, Cindy, Coastal Carolina gets a chance.

Well A&M got blown out 52-24 by Alabama. I would think that the ND score would have to be pretty similar to start the debate. ND also had the best record in their conference during the regular season. A&M did not and did not play in their conference championship game. So unless ND gets run out of the stadium, I don’t see them being out,
Notre Dame has more wins than A&M and beat Clemson once.

A & M beat Tennessee, which was 3-6 coming in. They don't belong in over a team that is ranked that high, and ends up losing against another highly-ranked team in a championship game.

Rematches between good teams tend to end up being splits.
Auburn beat Georgia in the regular season and then got beat down in the SEC title game 3 years ago.
I can go on. Notre Dame scored in the first game. Their offense needs to score in the second half.

In addition to Lawrence being out, Clemson was missing multiple defensive starters. I don’t believe OSU belongs there having played only six games but in all likelihood it will be Alabama vs. ND and Clemson vs. OSU.
