OSU played six games. They didn't look all that impressive against Indiana or NW and everyone else on their schedule sucked. A&M played a nearly full schedule and the weaker teams on their schedule were better than the weak teams on OSU's. OSU's just didn't have to endure as much.

They got in cuz of the brand.

If you inserted Wiscy or Iowa at the top of the resume instead of Ohio State then we wouldn't be talking about them for the CFP. it's not Ohio State's fault they only played six games but that shouldn't redound to their benefit. And against the two decent teams they played they were not very impressive.

The difference is that during a full season you're bound to have a dud game. We beat Clemson in 2017. Pitt beat them the year before. OSU didn't play a full season so they didn't have to prove themselves as consistently.

ND whipped UNC pretty easily on their home field and the win against Clemson was impressive even though Lawrence didn't play. No team in the country has two quality better than that. I like IU but they would not be favored against ND.

Who knows? Which team was beating Clemson in 2017? It wasn't supposed to be a 4 win Syracuse team. That's why playing all of the games matter.
