How Badass Was the Clint Commercial?

Why is everyone turning a blind eye to the fact that Chrysler is owned by Fiat? Fiat is Italian. I love how the commercial was pro-USA, yet this simple fact was left out. That said, I wonder what commercial was playing simultaneously for international broadcasts. I'm pretty sure if that was displayed, the US is not being looked upon very favorably right now. Very ego driven.

That said, I loved the commercial. Go USA!

dodge was instrumental in destroying the axis-then was taken over by a company that thrived under the nazis left to rot then picked up by the italians who they defeated also-

shows the real weakness of america-management

Want an eye opener? Tour the BMW plant in Munich.

It's in the middle of a city. Highly tenured workers. All parts and all tools and robots made in high cost Germany.
The plant churns out a stream of high-quality BMWs that are snapped up by a world market

Wow...talk about spin. Snapped up? Define snapped up, please. BMW North America has a market share of 1.8%. Now, that means one of a few things: The cars really aren't that good, they are over-priced, or Americans just don't have the means to buy that many. My quick Google search shows a starting price on their lowest model of 31K. You really think US automakers can't make a 31K compact car? They don't because there is no market for that (in the whole scheme of things). I guarantee you BMW would have a difficult time competing in the existing major market niche that American cars must survive in. That is, cars starting in the mid teens and peaking at 26-30K. It can't be done with their labor rates and short work weeks.

Spinning that commercial as being anti-Repubplican or anti-whatever is complete crap. Both parties are guilty of this waste-of-time nonsense. It's just using a high-profile spot for their own purposes/agenda. There's even a part in it about getting through divisiveness in the spot. Yikes. My whole family is Republican and we all thought it was great.

Yes, they are owned by the same guys that own Fiat, but it is a 51% stake. The company is almost entirely separate from the Italian owners with the former manager of Fiat in complete control. Chrysler will be developing some new compact European style cars that get great city gas mileage, and Fiat will be making some American style sedans; that is about the extent of Fiat involvement. The guy running Chrysler right is an absolute genius that is probably one of the best businessman in the world. I think he genuinely is very sincere about the marketing strategy and trying to identify with the American people. We need more CEOs like Sergio Marchionne.

Nobody touches Clint. Would like to see him pass the torch to someone else, but there's just nobody like him.

I was truly dissapointed in all of you that no one got my "Pale Rider" quotes in the pre-Fab-return Movie Quote thread.
