I dont get this thought process. He can only do so much for these kids. At some point the players have to be held accountable for stupid plays. We have literally beaten ourself in every loss this year. With the exception of USC...syracuse is the only team that has truly beat us.

Because hes the head coach, and its year 4. Who should we hold accountable John Desko? Bees? Marcy? BRFNCUSE?

you said it: at some point players need to be held accountable

he never does, and that is why we are so undisciplined

he holds true frosh accountable, but not his seniors.

Seniors need to step up and lead -- we do not get that from this team.

Doug is the coach - everything is on him, period.

These are the kids he's bringing in. They either need to arrive fundamentally sound or he needs to get them there. Either way...and in year 4 he's still QBing with Robinson's guy.

Because an SU player NEVER committed a penalty or a turnover before Marrone got here.

No they committed lots of penalties and turnovers as well as acruing losses. That why the last two guys before DM got canned.

Was the special teams play and penalties and turnovers this bad week after week before Marrone. I love ya Extreme but the results speak for themselves this team is a mess everywhere but Defense.

And Shafer is the best coach on the Staff. Go figure.

Didn't you already ask this question in another thread? Those things are discipline. Discipline is on coaches even tho they don't physically commit them. Marrone said as much 2 weeks ago as has a lit of coaches.

Exactly who else would it fall on? People need to wake up.

Before the 10 point play, it was 3rd and 12 at the 20. I called a RB draw because Marrone has become so predictable. Such a gutless call. After an unsuccessful 2nd down he conceded the series and was content with kicking a field goal. Ultra conservate, he was afraid to get the first down or a TD because of fear of a TO. And look what happened? The 10 point swing which probably cost us the game right then and there. Of course this is just one of the many things Marrone did that gave me a headache today. He is also responsible for not hiring a ST coach after 3 years of blunders, he should be responsible.

It doesn't matter. The players are bad and the coaching is bad and the facilities are bad and the fan base is bad.

We're toast. At least we got the ACC $$$ while our brand was still strong.

Uh, how about the players.

Problem is, you can't fire 85 players, it's easier to fire the coach.

There his freeking players, he recruited 98% of them, how much longer are we gonna blame Grob?

coach responsible for them

btw we will have no experienced QB next season

The players change, but the mistakes keep happening. There's one constant here- the head coach.

His players, his recruiting philosophy. Except for the QB, who was brought in by the last guy who we were told was incompetent at everything.

NFL mentality and too many non football factory type kids is a bad mix.

It's not GRob's fault that Pugh missed a block, anymore than it's Marrone's fault.

It's Pugh's fault.

Thats one play out of about 20, its on Marrone as much as you want to run interference hes the head coach it rests with him.

So run Marrone and Hackett out of town and start over.

Will you let the new coach gut the roster, or will you do the PC thing and let all of Marrone's players graduate before new players can be brought in? Either way it's a 5-6 year rebuild.

When we're still a 5-6 win team four years from now under the new guy, we'll be having this same exact conversation.

Your right, lets just stay the course and watch this team implode on itself week after week after week. Were 2-4 and haven't gotten a commit in two months but hey lets stay the course im sure next year in the ACC with a new QB and a whole new set of WR's will turn out just great.

So what's the answer then? Hope it stops? Wait for the next round of players and then it will stop?

How come our opponents do not make nearly as many mistakes as we do?

Because next year in the ACC with a new QB and a whole new coaching staff who didn't recruit the new QB is a much better option?

Sure, sign me up. A 5-6 win team is better than this dumpster fire right now.

It doesn't matter, Marrone will be the coach next year.
