How can stupid turnovers and penalties be on Marrone?

Because next year in the ACC with a new QB and a whole new coaching staff who didn't recruit the new QB is a much better option?

WE CANT SCORE. Were averaging one touchdown a game in the BE, you think the mid range game plan of slants, wheel routes and TE drags is going to give us points in the ACC? We cant even crack 20+ plus points agains the worst conference in the BCS.

And your solution is to do what?

Line up 5 wide and have Nassib throw deep on every play?

How about bringing in an actual OC and running some plays that work you know like wr/junk/bubble screens, misdirection plays, deep post, skinny posts, deep crosses, double moves, TE's deep down the middle, reverses to our actual speeed guys not sales and our TE. Whats your solution? Cross our fingers and watch the Giants?

I wouldn't run him out of here, but I also wouldn't use your reasoning as a basis not to. New coaches always inherit the formers's QB. No good way around that one.

Bubble screens? You want to hire Spence back? :D

Of course if Hunt starts next year, we won't be starting a new QB in a new conference ... in 2014. ;)

The "problem" with your plan (and I agree with you) is that the only game breaker is broyld and he isn't playing. This scheme will not work sans burners. Watching lemon, west and sales is more painful than watching nassib

See thats where I disagree we have Clark, Flemming, Hale, and the two Freshmen. Plus Sales and West and even Lemon have caught deep passes in the past we simply dont throw the ball deep, EVER. NO trick plays no misdirection nothing.

Don't have a qb that can throw deep

This has probably been said before but:

The Head Coach, AD, CEO, Chairman are charged with making the difficult decisions regarding personnel. If they don't take responsibility and hold their people accountable, then they are the ones who are at fault. If anyone fumbles, throws interceptions, drops passes, misses blocks, misses tackles "CONSISTENTLY" game after game after game after game after game after game, then it is on the "HEAD COACH" in my book. He is not holding everyone accountable, including Mr Nassib or the Mr Hackett.

If we win, Coach gets the credit. If we lose, he's to blame. It doesn't matter how the games turn out, in the end, that's how we see things.

It doesn't matter. The players are bad and the coaching is bad and the facilities are bad and the fan base is bad.

We're toast. At least we got the ACC $$$ while our brand was still strong.
I don't really agree with what you say, but feel that way anyhow. We're better than the team that takes the field, but is that real? Rutgers sucks but knows how to win, we're a good team that knows how to lose, and we're a fan base that accepts mediocrity. Many people are ready for basketball season where we know how to excel. I still want to win football games. I know we can, but know also that we can lose without reason. We should have beaten Rutgers, but we didn't. I feel shame and disgust. We gave another game away. It can't be worse than that.

There his freeking players, he recruited 98% of them, how much longer are we gonna blame Grob?
Though the buck stops with Marrone, he's not the one on the field. The players know what it takes to win and know what they did or didn't do to lose the game. We lost another and they're all to blame. Changing coaches is the easiest way to renovate the team, but the players lost the game today. This is one game that the coaches can't be blamed for failure. I'm with you if you think it's time to try something new, but at this point it's just a matter of "different". We lost to a team we should have beaten. Players and coaches share the dishonor, so don't focus on the coaches, at least for this game.

Hey bud, I normally agree with you but we have tried that thinking before. The problems/issues are the same week in and week out, you can only blame the players for so long at this point its on the staff and Marrone.

How come our opponents do not make nearly as many mistakes as we do?
I sure would like to understand that one. We play better but our opponents make fewer mistakes. We lost and there is no one to blame. Their team played the way they needed to in order to win and our team just couldn't make the plays necessary for victory. It's no one's fault, but we lost another game that we should have won. I had a friend that was a professor at ESF. He told me once that football season was just the filler between summer and basketball season. I'm beginning to think he was right.

Today was baffling. The gameplan was workable, but we couldn't execute. The blocked kick was the game-winner. Is that play on the coaches?

Yes, Rutgers has blocked a kick every year Marrone has been here. IF we cant figure it out by now then its completely on the coaches. Im surprised more people arent upset about it, absolutely disgusting to watch.

So what's the answer then? Hope it stops? Wait for the next round of players and then it will stop?

IMO the solution is keep Marrone as HC but hire an OC and give him full reign over the O. Tell Marrone we want you to run the team but the OC runs the O and Shafer runs the D. Marrone would be a CEO. I would bring in Tony Franklin as that guy before Dykes is hired by a B12/SEC team and takes him along.

Well, I'm disgusted, but I'm just a peon. You and many others are far more knowledgeable than I am about football X's and O's. I just want to win and know we can and should play better. What I do know is that we outplayed Rutgers today and still lost. Frame it however it pleases you most, but we lost and have no good reason. We screwed up and lost. Rutgers won and we have no good reason to downplay their victory. They suck and we suck worse. Try to spin it in some way that hurts less, but WE suck.

I dont get this thought process. He can only do so much for these kids. At some point the players have to be held accountable for stupid plays. We have literally beaten ourself in every loss this year. With the exception of USC...syracuse is the only team that has truly beat us.
I agree 100%

The answers at the qb position. Make the change now. Any of them with improved athleticism.

Because this is becoming a pattern, just like the delay of game penalties under P. If it was one player making a mistake all of the time, we could blame the kid. It's a variety of players and we have far to many occurances every week. Conversely, every year the same teams seem to commit very few penalties regardless of personnel. The coaches are to only constant in the equation.

Todays FG was blocked by the same kid that blocked 2 of our kicks last year.
