Too bad he played against Clemson, because 4 games might've gotten him a redshirt for this past year.
I wish they just line him up as a receiver, and have him run routes 15 yards down the field. On the off chance the QB isn't running for his life, and actually throws the ball correctly, he might make some plays. I dislike forcibly relying on the bubble screens. A WR screen, or a REAL screen might work better. If the QBs have no touch though, he (and a lot of others) aren't going to do much.
And yes, Custis was totally wasted this year. I don't see why they needed him as a TE anyways. The TE position provided 13 total catches this year. I get wanting to have a big kid there; I don't get why you don't even bother using him in the passing game. Nick Provo wasn't some stellar athlete, but he could go out 8-10 yards and present himself as a target, and he was USED. 85 catches in two years. Parris, Moore, and Custis could've done the same thing, and maybe looking for that 8 yard pass makes the offense work better. That's too much to ask of the offensive game plan, I guess.
