I'm buying the theory that this was just a move to inject the Cowboys into the conversation during the playoffs. All Sanders has proven as a coach is that he can recruit playmakers. Some of Coloarado's losses were just pitiful--kinda like Dallas' last playoff game against Green Bay.

Jets wanted Rogers because they thought they were just a QB away from a Super Bowl, and they aren't smart. Finding a trade partner is going to require finding a team that both can convince itself and its fans that all its needs is a QB, and that isn't very smart - so not smart that they'd value Prescott similarly to how a Super Bowl winning QB in Rogers was by the Jets. That's a tall ask.

The only way Prescott goes to another team is if he gets the Russell Wilson-Broncos treatment, so a team can pick him off the scrap heap for pennies. The Cowboys have walked themselves into a no-mans land with bad contracts tying their hands - and it is going to be very hard to escape from there. Any coach with options is going to avoid that place.

I think Sanders has options.

That NIL will dry up really fast and I can’t imagine most of their higher quality players are there for any other reason than the Deion and NIL impact.

I think Deion to Dallas would certainly generate a ton of fan excitement but I would be shocked if it somehow magically propelled the Cowboys beyond their annual wild card/divisional round ceiling.

He knows he doesn’t have many years left so he’s desperate for a fast fix. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him buy out Deion, eat Dax’s contract and pay both Sanders a gross amount of money.

Only to lose more because the culture will still suck under Deion who will flame out by year 3
