This. Just like they got Capone on mail fraud, the only way I can see NCAA football having real guardrails with teeth right now is through tax considerations. Once the money starts flowing out in the open, Uncle Sam will be watching.

I would bet there are hundreds of companies that could run every NCAA tournament. The smaller levels are pretty much already run by the schools and host communities.
Unless they ban them for any post season or playoff games, it will not stop. Coaches should be suspended and docked scholarships. The penalty has to be severe to stop it. Multi-million dollar fines.
Agreed. The issue is that the NCAA has had no bite to back up any enforcement. If the conferences and schools give back the NCAA their teeth, change may come. If not, it's the same old same old. Directional State U will pay for the sins of Big State U.
Punish it on both ends. If a player is signed by a school and he goes to another school after they tamper with him, suspend him for the season too. These guys are signing contracts. They're complicit.

I am impressed the NCAA is appearing to enforce rules. We will see how long it lasts. Emmert destroyed all credibility and it will take decades to get the NCAA credibility back.
Let's see though what they do with the Clemson/Ole Miss tampering case. The B1G is way out of line with the rest of the P4. Of course they'd like it to be the P2 if not P1.
